Firehouse Subs 5 gallon bucket --$2 donation

Hey everyone.

I wasnt sure where to put this, but like the title states:

Today I went to a sandwich shop called "firehouse subs". Had the hook and ladder sandwich. Good stuff.

HOWEVER,

They had a pyramid of red 5gallon buckets on display. It stated that if you donate $2.00 to their charity, you get one of the 5 gallon buckets their pickles come in.

Anyhow, I donated and picked up a new rinse bucket for less than my lowes paint/wash bucket. (the one with the measurements on the side).

Seems like a good deal, and for a good cause if anyone is looking for a new bucket and have the sandwich shop local.

Like to tell us what city so we can get a bucket

Sorry about that. I'm in San Antonio, Texas.

Here is a franchise map

Firehouse Subs

Here is a location finder from the companies website.

Firehouse Subs

I have no affiliations with the company other than having a good sandwich the other day and a nifty deal on the bucket. Hope it's a company wide thing!

There's a restaurant here in town that does the same thing. I would bet if you asked around you should be able to find some. Just maybe not cool red ones. I hate the smell of pickles so I've never gotten one. Did you get the smell out?

Its a faint smell of pickles...I figured It would dissipate after a few washes....But then, I like pickles...

Hah. No firehouse subs around here. But i am a big fan of the lowes 5 gal bucket. I was going to head over there sometime this week to pick up another one. It's hard to find clear 5 gal buckets.

Sweet. They have clear 5 gal buckets?!?! I've been look for some for awhile now. There is a Lowes about an hour away from me. Might just have to make a trip.

That's a pretty cool idea to raise a little extra cash for charity. What I did for measurments on my NON clear solid white buckets was take a gallon milk container...fill it with water, and pour it in. Once the water settles, I just marked the outside with a sharpie. That way I can measure out a gallon for ONR pretty quick. Just fill to the line.

Here is a picture of my two 5 gal buckets. I'm so proud of them. May they continue on to internet fame.

Left is the firehouse sub one....right is the nifty lowes clear bucket with measurements in both gallons/metric.

I love my semi-transparent Lowe's 5 gal buckets. Well worth the money just to have measurement marks and a padded handle, although a $2 donation in exchange for a bucket isn't a shabby deal at all, if you're local to this chain.

Well not exactly clear but like BlackElantraGT said "semi transparent". It's much more translucent than the any of the other 5 gal buckets i've seen, makes measuring car soap solutions easier :) Can't beat the price plus the foam handle is comfortable.

I really did not think those foam handles would hold up from lifting a heavy 5 gal pail of water, but they haven't torn off one bit. And like you said, it's so easy to measure out precisely how many gals of solution to mix because you can see from the outside how much water you have.

Firehouse has great sandwiches! Unfortunately, several of them around here went out of business.

Sorry for the o/t.

No Firehouse subs in Cincinnati area.

BTW, if you ever drive by a Penn Station East Coast Subs you have to stop there. Their sandwiches and fries are the best! OMG  Penn Station

Another great tip from autopia.org

I just bought two from the Firehouse Subs in Kingstowne VA (Northern VA just east of Springfield).
