Doing stuff.
No more orange peel, hooray. Here is the car after two passes with #7, a coat of NXT paste, and two coats of S100.

Nice job. How long overall did all of the wetsanding take?

I take it you used a rotary to cut the wet sanding marks?

Looks great!

Thanks. Took me about 36-40 hours to do the wet sanding. I started with 1000 grit or 1500 grit (depending on the panel), then moved up to 1500, 2000, and 2500. After that I used a Meg's cutting pad (burgandy) with some 3M Medium Cut, then some of Meg's Fine Cut. Then I took the clay bar to everything. Took me about a month to get the wet sanding done (kind of busy).

Used a finishing pad to lay down some of Meg's Machine Glaze, and then did the #7 Show Car Glaze by hand. After the #7, I applied some NXT Paste wax. Let it cure for a day, and then applied two or three coats (depending on panel) of S100. For the tires I used Stoner More Shine Less Time. For the wheels, Eagle One A2Z. The Glass got a treatment of Stoner's Invisible Glass. Used 303 and Autoglym bumper care on the rubber trim. Used Eagle One's Never Dull on the chrome. Applied some of Stoner's Speed Bead to the rocker panels, chrome, wheels, grille, and lights.

Great job, looks really good, and I really like the color. :xyxthumbs

Next job to tackle are those oxidized headlights. After wet sanding your paint, the headlights should be cake :p

I'm ordering some euro spec headlights soon. They are all glass, so I won't have to deal with those yellowed pieces of junk. They look much better on the w126 series. Here is an example:

Want to get those wheels too, but right now I just don't have the money for new wheels and tires. Hell, I just got new tires.

That looks real nice. You just don't see too many MB's that old looking that good all the time. My mom has a 95' E320 and I can see the orange peel. Very annoying. I've thought about doing what you did, but after reading how many hours you took to do it, I think I'll pass!
