Finish Kare Decon and clear bra

I recently purchased the FK three step paint decon system and I plan to use it over the long weekend. I see a lot of marketing fluff about how it removes clear bra adhesive. When I`m applying this stuff, should I be freaking out about it contacting the edges of my clear bra? Are there any known issues with it lifting the edges of clear film?

An IPA wipe can also soften adhesives. We don`t tape up our clear bras before doing an IPA wipe. I`m interested in hearing from people who have used the FK system on or around clear film and what their experiences were.

pmnewton- When I`ve used it I`ve always kept it away from PPF/etc. as I was certain the FK would mess it up. No, I don`t have any evidence or proof, but I`m not very paranoid about such stuff in general. My caution with this product is based on what Ron K. told me about it, which is good enough for me but might not be good enough for somebody else.

Should be good enough for anyone, he developed it, in whole or in part.

Yep, in my book Ron`s opinion is the Gospel Truth when it comes to anything ValuGard or FinishKare....even when my opinions/experiences differ! If he and I don`t agree it might be prudent to listen to *him*.

But do you find it as *effective*?

I`ve never done a side-by-side comparison, but I`ve used ABC enough to have a pretty good idea of its capabilities and limitations. When I had such impressive results from the FK, it was on a vehicle that I considered beyond the capabilities of ABC (which I find quite mild).

In private conversations. He was pretty adamant that I shouldn`t use the FK decon stuff but I did it anyhow. I was actually surprised by how vehemently he opposed them, but he can be, uhm...opinionated and I can be, uhmn...stubborn :D He probably muttered something about my being one lucky SOB that things turned out OK!

Enough of a diff that I consider the ABC to be basically idiot-proof whereas the FK is just "so far Accumulator-proof, but I`m not pressing my luck". EVERY time I use "B" I wish it were stronger...with the exception described below. And I let it dwell and even clay/otherwise agitate the surface during the dwell-time.

BUT...on the Audis with their compromised aluminum trim, the "B" is probably as potent as I ought go, and I do my best to keep it off those surfaces. NO WAY would I use the acidic FK product on one of those cars, not for anything.

When I got the `93 Audi and the `90 Tahoe (both in utterly *DEPLORABLE* condition), I used the FK and was glad I did. Still have a fair bit of 1119 left over, not sure what I`ll do with it. Might never use those products again, whereas I most probably will use "A" and "B" on something someday.
