Finesse-it? Perfect-it? So confusing...

I'm finally ready to order a PC. Just wondering if it is the Finesse-it 2 I'm supposed to be using, sans fillers, to see if indeed my swirls are coming out? Is this labeled a compound? Then I can go straight to , say, #9.

elbee . . . yeah, 3M products are somewhat confusing.

I think what you want is #39003 Finesse-it II machine polish.

I've used it with great success at removing fine scratches with my PC. It's a glaze and not a compound. Compounds are definitely more aggressive and IMO shouldn't be the first thing you grab to remove scratches. Advice here on the forum is to start out with the least aggressive product and move upwards from there.

If using #39003 does the trick then you can go directly to a wax or sealant or to something like Vanilla Moose. In fact,I was out in the garage today removing scratches from my Acura using #39003, then Vanilla Moose, then topping with Carnuba Moose Wax. Very nice combo.

Also, your pad choice will affect how quickly the #39003 will work.

The orange pad works great. Has a little more bite than, for instance,Megs #8006 (yellow).

Hope this helps.

im guessing he wants to know the difference between the finess it II and perfect it III id just stay with the perfect it since you have the machine glaze, rubbing compound, finishing glaze just to name a few. so in the PI III you have the finess it if i am correct which works good if your using a rotory
