haven't even used it yet and I LOVE IT!! So, now that thats out of the way, I'm in need of pads and polishes. I am looking at either the sonus kit from autopia, or the excel (propel) sampler from patrick. Any other suggestions? Which is better? Any preference?

I am also going to get *a few* polishes. Right now, I'm looking at probably ssr 1 and 2.5, but DACP and 80 is a possibility too. Any other suggestions? It took a long time, but I finally got the push i needed to buy the PC, wont be able to use it for a few months, but its getting there. Thanks guys.

They're selling Edge pads for $4.97 each. If you input "detailcity" in the coupon code box, you'll get an additional 20% off, but hurry. Sale ends Feb. 27!

I have Lake Country pads I bought at CMA. They're about $10 each. I've never tried Edge pads, but at $4.97, I decided to give them a try anyways!:D

Is there any significant difference between the LC propel and Sonus pads? One way better than the other at all?

Another thing, I have a black car, so will i need a step between the SSR 2.5 and 1 or between the DACP and 80? Still havent decided which one im going to buy yet, but I'm leaning toward the SSR line, but not really sure. Open to suggestions. Thanks

No need to step between the SSR2.5 and SSR1, or DACP and #80 if you don't want to. Personally, I like SSR2.5 followed by Menzerna FP II. However, all the polishes you mentioned are excellent and will work just fine.

From my understanding, there is no real backing pad, just what looks kinda like a socket wrench end that fits into the pad. There appears to be no backing pad, but thats just my observation based on the pics ive seen, dont know with any certainty. BTW, I checked on Premium Autocare on the Edge pads, the only ones they have in stock anymore are the yellow medium ones, which really stinks because I was seriously considering them at $5 a piece. That was almost a steal. Oh well. Maybe next time around.

You know, I just remembered, I have a bottle of #9 lying around. Can I use that instead of the SSR1? Close to the same, or is SSR1 more abrasive yet. I guess my question is, if I use SSR2.5 then the #9 and just skip the SSR1 for right now, will I be happy with the results (black car remember)? Just thinking about ways to keep myself from going bankrupt ;)
