So as most know I am a big fan and user of Gtechniq Crystal Serum Light. I have also tried Exo V3 by itself with good results. But I have never broke down and tried the CSL Exo V3 combo.

CSL by itself offers great chemical resistance and gloss. Adding Exo V3 over CSL is supposed to offer greater hydrophobic properties/self cleaning ability.

So a few days ago being board and business a bit slow due to the weather I decided to try out the CSL Exo V3 combo on my GTO.

I did a light machine polishing with Menzerna sf3800 and my G21. Followed by a prep wipe with Eraser.

Applying the coatings was straight forward as normal. I waited 12hrs between CSL and Exo V3 application.

To try out how well the beading and self cleaning ability I drove the car on dirty roads with melted snow etc then hit it with the pressure washer. Results were pretty much what I was expecting. The majority of the surface dirty easily released from the surface with a small amount of film remaining after blowing it dry.

Here`s a video showing the beading etc.

Here`s a video after pressure washing only and blowing dry. After this video I simply went over the vehicle with some Mckees 37 high gloss detail spray to remove a small amount of film left over.

So far I will say that there appears to be better beading and it adds a bit more gloss. Going to keep an eye on it.

Looks awesome as always, if it can self clean as well as it does for Brandt up here in the North east it will be my new go to for my daily drivers. Then we will see how it handles next winters evil salt barrage.

Totally agree. One issue I see during the salt barrage is the mechanical impacts from heavy salt and sand can degrade almost any LSP it seems. Not so much on the top panels but more so along the sides

This is good to know as wife and I are looking at replacing her car car fairly soon and it maybe a 2014 Malibu with bout 20k miles

nice. i haven`t done much testing of the csl+exo V3 since thats on my car but it sure is nice and easy to clean

see if you can get any lsp to stick to it.
my csl+exov2 combo on my truck releases every lsp i try to top it with

This is the next coating I`d like to try. Wonder how CSL and Liquid Crystal C2V3 combo would work?
if you check my holy sheet thread you can see for yourself
i did half of one panel with csl+c2v3 and one with just csl and i observed a noticeable darkening effect on my light colored truck

Saw that thread...will have to revisit but if I remember it was doing well. Gtechniq can be a little confusing with all the different coatings, boosters and abbreviated naming. Exo v3, c2v3, crystal laquer, crystal serum...

I`ve tried and used almost every coating on the Market......CSL alone, not topped is very impressive for a entry level coating that is available to the Public, Slickness which customers relate to as being protected and the Gloss is extremely nice too.....but, once again, its ALL in the Prep work too.....

Thanks guys.

Wendell your very correct! Last year I did a number of vehicles with CSL alone or topped with TAC Systems Quartz Max. I had awesome results with it. CSL with EXO v3 adds that bit of hydrophobic properties and slickness to really make it a 1/2 punch!
