Finally bought a shop vac for mobile business

I broke down and bought a lightweight portable shop vac today. Got the Rigid WD4050. It's a small 4-gallon, 5 horsepower wet/dry unit, part of their "Professional" line. I tried it out this afternoon and have to say, I'm pleased. I used woolite mix on my floor mat and it sucked up the vast majority of the water. I also used the blower function to blow water out of my grille after QEW. Lastly, I vacuumed the interior. This little machine worked flawlessley. It's small, light, powerful, and fairly quiet with the "muffler" in place. It should be an easy fit into the trunk of my car for mobile jobs.

Good buy. Part of me wishes I would have returned the one I bought and exchanged it for the same model (the one i bought was broken), but i went with a bigger one that won't fit well in my car. live and learn.

I bought the 12 gallon version recently. Those thing are really good at sucking the water out. Its a perfect Machine only if the nozzle is transparent like an extractor so i can see if the carpet is clean. But overall an excellent machine.

Yes it only comes with the one nozzle....Home Depot carries a large variety of other nozzles to choose from in the same place as the vacuum.

I bought the accessory kit fo $20. It comes with 2extension wnads, utility nozzle, crevice tool, dusting brush and wet nozzle. The extra nozzles allow me to tackle the whole interior of a car. I just wish the hose was more flexible.

I was on the fence about which vac to buy when I first saw this thread. Yesterday I went out and got this unit and its a good size and very portable and not too loud (I got nervous after reading another thread where someone said the Ridgid's were loud). With this and my new Stanley tool boxes, I can detail out of a trunk.
