I have a decent sized chip on a piece of black plastic next to my taillight. It really shows up and im wondering if theres anything I can use to fill it in with that will make it less noticable

Here's a pic of the plastic im talking about, this isnt my car but it's the same kind of car. Look at the top right corner of the pic and its the black stripe that runs a long the taillight.

Mark,

The picture that you provided doesn't really show the damage that you described - I can only see about 1/8th of your tail light.

However, you might consider removing the tail light for a day and working with some epoxy to fill the chip. Work with about 3 separate applications of the epoxy to slowly build up the surface and fill the gap. I wouldn't try to fill the void with one application. Several small applications will ensure success.

Where can you usually find this epoxy stuff?

Any hardware store or Home Depot store should have epoxy. Epoxy comes in two parts, which you mix together so it can harden. Mix a small portion together, then make an initial fill of the gap. Let it harden, then repeat the process a few more times until the gap has been filled. You could also use some 1600 grit sand paper to smooth out the epoxy once it has properly cured.
