Few questions on Meguairs #20

Decided to give synthetics a try and this was the most easily available. I tried it on my wheels first, very slick, easy to apply and remove. Cant say much for cleaning ability since the wheels were very clean to begin with. I hope to provide better lasting protection and maybe make cleaning them a little easier.

My question is regarding using #20 on my paint, I have been a P21S/PPG user, quite heavily I might add. I plan on using 3M machine polish to remove some minor swirls with my PC and an orange Power Pad foloowed by number 20. I would like to then add some Natural wax on top of that, would I need to allow for cure time for the #20 before adding the P21S?

Car is a 2003 white BMW with very good paint, minor swirls due mainly to my compulsive washing... a few minor scratches

I did call Meguairs regarding layering number 20, since it has "Mild" cleaners they said it wont layer, does anyone know if they produce a synthetic without cleaners? I forgot to ask that while I was on the phone. The guy I got didnt seem as well informed as most here anyway, no offense Mike, I know you will read this...

I appreciate any input, I would PM Mike Directly but I think he gets enough PMs....::nixweiss

I think # 26 ? (not a Megs user) is there natural Carnauba with Polymers added.........Zero for cleaning ability....

# 20 leaves a pretty decent shine, with average protection, its a shame you cant layer it though !!

Patrick - Meguiar's #26, has added polymers and such added for durability. Its the Hi-tech yellow wax. Has no cleaning ability.

Since you have P21S already, and PPG, Apply #20 (two lights coats is good), then wait 24 hours, then top with the wax of your choice.

I'm going to do this exact process on my red car, starting tonight (other than the swirl removing). I'm going to strip it, and #20 it tonight, let it sit for a day, then #26, sit for a day, then top with Pinnacle Souveran paste. I'm wondering if I can get a layer of #7 in there somewhere; I'm thinking, no.

It will probably look exactly the same as it does right now... like a shiny red car.

LOL,so what. I'll have fun, and it beats watching TV, any day of the week.

I mean, a bird pooped on it, so I have to do this, right?

FalconGuy, I discussed the issue with Mike about 20. 2 coats to start, 20 minute cure time, wipe off with a terry-cloth towel to leave the max amount of product on the finish. 24 hours later, put on another coat. 24 hours later, top with 26 for max shine and protection. He said the products are formulated to compliment each other. It makes sense to me, but you could probably top it with a non Meg's product and see what happens. I did my wife's white Riviera the other day with 20,(after cleaning with 83). It looks the best it has ever looked! I had S-100 on it . The 20 looks crisper, clearer. As always, your call...
