Few pics - Lamborghini Diablo Roadster

Hi guys,

I actually did this detail a few weeks ago, but haven't had time to post any pics up. This was a fun car to do - the paint surface was actually in pretty good condition already, with no deep compounding required.
This is SUCH a fun car to drive - none of that dual-clutch, techno-wizardry stuff - just a gorgeous chrome gated shifter, and a proper third pedal :) I'm not sure if it even has ABS (I didn't drive it hard enough to determine that, haha).

Lots of scoops, vents, panel gaps, so some aspects were challenging, but fun to do.

No "pre" pics, as they wouldn't have been all that revealing - the paint was pretty good to begin with, so I just used my FLEX 3410, orange pad, and trusty Menzerna SIP, followed by blue pad with Micro Polish. Finished with Menzerna Power Lock.

They have a saying in the Lambo world, with reference to the 12-cylinder cars - "when the doors go up, the panties go down.....". Apparently, it's true!!!!

(Not my underwear!!........:rofl)

Thanks for looking, everyone - once again - any suggestions would be taken graciously, and would be welcome. I still have SO much to learn..... cheers!

I love these cars. As a hobbyist photographer I love finding rare exotics. Museums is usually where I may find one and I rarely get to go to them. Anyways My questions is how did you get to a point where you work on these? Seems like for something like this I'd only want to use a Flex at the most. or just take my sweet, sweet time with a DA.

Awesome job !!!!

I must have said OMG like 10 times in my head and then I saw the panties and had to comment on a job well done!

WOW. Stunning car and good work.

Thanks you guys!!! Your comments are VERY much appreciated. I am still learning tons from you guys, that's for sure.

Kenny - the way I got to start working on these, is that I drive with the owners (I am fortunate enough to own the black LP560 in the garage pic (I have a VERY understanding wife, and an even MORE understanding bank manager :))). I detailed the crap out of my own car, and after the guys saw it, I started off with a buddy's gorgeous single-stage Ferrari 328, and then lots of the other guys wanted their cars done. I do it because I love it, and to do something for my buddies, who have done amazing things for me at various stages of my life.

I have a 2008 Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera (black), a 2006 Gallardo Spyder (yellow - can't wait for this one), and a brand new Viper SRT waiting in the wings. I kind of dread doing the black Superleggera - Lamborghini's black Nero Noctis paint is unbelievably soft, and prone to marring (same colour as my own car), but the owner is almost as fastidious as I am, so after a good coating, it should be fine.

Thanks again everyone - and once again, THANK YOU for all of the help. :D

Beautiful car and great work! It's always a disappointment when I see an exotic car in public and the paint is in mediocre to horrible condition. Great job keeping the finish on that car as shiny as it looked when it hung on my bedroom wall. :)

So bad ass! Especially the last picture. LOL That came out of nowhere.

LOL - thanks. If you knew the owner of the car, you'd understand completely. He's Italian, and has THE GIFT - he doesn't need any doors to go up, at any time, if you know what I mean :) :) :)

Thank you! It is SUCH a beautiful car - I really did feel fortunate to be able to work on it. And you're so right - so many of the exotics around here are in TERRIBLE condition. They look great from far away, but the owners often don't know, or don't care enough to keep the paint in great condition. It breaks my heart.

Awesome work and such an awesome car. Keep up the good work bud. I use to drool over a Diablo SV when I was around 14 years old.

Thank you! I remember VERY clearly, at the age of ten, asking my Dad as he tucked me in for the night - "Dad, if I do become a doctor, and work REALLY hard, will I be able to buy a Lamborgnee (that's how I pronounced it back then haha)?". I had a massive poster of a Contact above my bed even then. I still have that poster, but there is NO way it's going back up, according to my wife, LOL.

Very nice!

Thanks. The car really is a beaut.

Thanks, everyone. I will pass on the compliments to the car's owner. He will be very chuffed to hear :)

Beautiful car and it looks like you did some great work.

I have to say, that last photo came out of nowhere.
