Fender Protectors

Does anyone have any hands on experience with some quality fender protectors when you're working under the hood? I will be installing suspension in my car in a couple months and would like to get a good one that wont scratch and make my fenders worse off than they are.

Thanks in advance guys!

I have the Griot's ones...they're OK but I'm not a huge fan of letting cotton contact paint and that applies here as well. As long as you don't put too much pressure on 'em they work fine, but so do (the thickest/softest/"best") regular cotton towels.

What I'd *really* like is a fender cover with a really thick/plush MF backing. Oughta cobble one together with some Shamrock MFs or something....

EDIT: see my next post, below!

Well, I know from first hand experience that cotton hasn't damaged my paint yet. I have a really high quality, 4 layer car cover that I use every time I dont drive the car and so far it hasnt caused any damage to my black paint.

I might do a search and see what ones are the softest and buy that, I havent really seen much options.

Striker- Cool, glad that's working so well for you. Wish I were so lucky, but hey...there are a whole lotta variables and what works for one person might not work so well for somebody else.

Given your good luck with cotton, check out the Griot's fender covers, they might be perfect for you.

HEY....I just noticed that they've changed them! Now they are a "combination of fleece and microfiber". I might have to get a new set myself. PN 77675, ~$25. Cheap insurance IMO.
