Feel free to lead me down the path

Hey Moe!

My "collection" of products is meager compared to most, but, with your help, that could change.

Last year, in my pre-Autopia days, I used Griot's polishes (with a PC), Megs #3 and IW on my new dark-gray metallic Focus. It looked pretty good, but after hanging around here, I wonder if there is better out there.

Cashing in my "spare change bucket" yielded a couple of hundred dollars, so I am looking for other things to try.

Thanks to the washing advice of everyone here, the car has barely any marring at all. I would need a light polish though, and a medium one for a few cars I do as a favor that have medium swirling.

I have been thinking about the Menzerna line, or Poorboy's. Any advice would be appreciated.

I am thinking of replacing the #3 with RMG, and was wondering about that, too.

Finally, the LSP. I really do like IW. However, I keep reading about the look of Natty's Blue on a darker car. Is it worth a try? Would it work to put it over IW, or is it better alone?

I have Sonus Carnauba Spritz as a QD, but was contemplating trying FK1 #425.

The answers to these questions will determine how I spend my little windfall, and perhaps lead me down the path of beginning an "addicition." Thanks in advance to everyone for their opinions.

1. Wash Meg. NXT or Gold Class

2. Clay if nessesary

3. Polish Menzerna Final Polish II or Intensive polish

4. ClearKote Red Moose Glaze

5. Pinnacle Souveran Wax

6. Wait 24 hrs apply another coat of PS Wax

7. buy some good sunglasses because you will need them!

That must be a REALLY big change bucket lol. If your using a PC, I prefer the Poorboy's polishes. They break down easily on the PC and do what you want them to do.

RMG is a great glaze. Goes on easy, enhances the look immensely, and comes off even easier!

Your choice here, durability vs looks. I wax alot, so durability isnt an issue, so i use Natty's Blue.

I use quikshine and S&W so I really can't help you here.

I, too, don't mind waking, so I have been thinking about the Natty's Blue for the warm weather months.

So many people have been touting the RMG. I'm curious to try it.

The FK sample kit looks like a nice starter kit-4 ounce sizes including a sealant and Pink wax (gets great reviews). Get a good polish either FK 330, Poorboys or Menzerna and add other products as you want to experiment

I would also recommend the Poorboy's polishes, RMG, and Nattys Blue. All of them are easy to use and yield great results.

As far as a QD, my favorite is, and has been for a while now, Poorboy's S&G. I'm on my 2nd gallon jug of it now, and I plan to order another gallon as soon as the warm weather arrives. How pathetic that I'm mentioning warm weather when it's still a couple months away. :(

No, not pathetic at all. We who live in winterland always pine for the arrival of spring, or a spell of good winter weather.

After a nasty December here, January has been mild. Last week, I washed, clayed, and threw another coat of IW on the car.

I played tennis outdoors once last week, and did it again yesterday, as it was in the 50s. And, I have been washing outdoors with the hose, my buckets, and my mitts.

But I know that things will turn nasty again befire winter is over. That's how it is.

Anyway, thanks for the Poorboy's/RMG/Nattys Blue recommendations. I tend to agree with it, though I will listen to any other recommendations.

I am a "knowledge freak" (must be the schoolteacher in me), so I welcome all comments.

To quote The Stooges, "It's a simple job for simple people!"
