Favorite Polish/Wax combo on Silver?

Since I now have titanium metallic paint to take care of, I thought I would pick everyone's brain. :) I am looking for depth and shine with a emphasis on lots of shine! Include any products used. Eg., Sealants, Polishes, Waxes, QD's, etc.

I know this has been discussed before so please give your input anyway.

Thanks in advance! :xyxthumbs

On my silver metallic daily driver ( only color for a daily driver IMO) I am using claying and DACP as Prep. Zaino w/ ZFX x 2 with 1 week final curing. Poorboy's EX x2 ( 24 hours apart ) than topped with Souveran a day later. QD'ing with FD. This was done 1 month ago with 2 S&W washes and still beads and shines like the day I finally finish.

Does it sparkle? Yes as much as a silver metallic can be made to do. Is it as glossy as my black cars? No way and will never reach that level because of the inherit differences in optics. Does it sparkle in comparison to Joe Non-autopian's silver metallic car? Yes,like a new dime compared to a tarnished old nickle.

IMO the important step was the enhancement of the clearcoat with the DACP so that the metallic nature of the finish was not hindered by a cloudy top coat.

But AMP99 I mean AMP01 ;), you already knew that.:wavey

I don't know that I have an absolute favorite, but I'll give you some combinations to thing about.

Meguiars Swirl Free, Vanilla Moose and S100:

Final Polish and Carnauba Moose (I thought I had used Vanilla Moose and Final Polish, but I went back and checked my notebook and I was wrong!)

If your car is new then try einszett Metallic Polish and Glanz Wax. This is an awesome combo on my Reflex Silver Passat. Both products are very easy to work with by hand or PC and produce a very deep wet gloss. I've compared the Glanz and S100 carnauba wax and the only difference I could find was the S100 was a bit slicker. I top my Glanz with Meg's Final Detail each time I wash, but now I'm getting ready to start using 1Z's new Perls Shampoo so I can't wait to see how that works out.

I like Klasse with S100. I did in on the 350 and well, it was a definite improvement on just S100 alone. Although I have never tried Zaino, I have seen pics of it on white and silver and was definitely impressed, much more so than on dark colors.

I'm happy with Zaino.

While I don't have any fancy pictures to back my suggestion :o, I can say that its long-lasting slickness and beading is excellent. It gives silver a very nice, warm glow during sunsets, yet it is very clear and crisp on cloudy days.

Then of course, so is prepped clearcoat...

i've tried lots of different combos on silver, all with the same base treatment of clay, DACP in the spring/when needed, SEPC, and:

2xs100

2x#26

and lastly, 2xAIO, 3xSG

I haven't had a chance to play with combining klasse with anything else as I only received the Klasse in time for my winter prep and then put everything away for the winter.

I do love how Meguiar's #26 darkens the paint and gives it a wet look. Meg #7 and 2x #26 is to die for.

Zilla,

Those are some nice reflection shots on silver! :bow :xyxthumbs

The next time around I think I am going to try this combo:

Vanilla Moose, AIO, topped with P21S. I'll probablly get around to this in the next couple of weeks and when I do I'll post some pics.

Thanks everyone for your input! :xyxthumbs

If anyone has any more suggestions, please bring 'em on! :D

Cheers,

DACP followed by a layer of Meguiar's MPPP worked great on my wife's silver Tacoma. Looks good and is long lasting. Can't spend too much time on Tacoma because my Dodge Hemi Quad Cab is so darned big. Right now it's wearing BLACKFIRE.

I use Mothers carnuba and it gives my Silver the wet look, very happy with it.

From what I have seen on this forum the people that recommend different waxes because they are happy with them would be happy with most of the quality products.

They do all the prep work and all the follow up, the product is only half of it the other half is knowledge and hard work.

I learned more listening to these people than than I can ever thank them for.

AMP, If you use VM before AIO then it is a waste of time. VM is more of a glaze than a light scratch removing actual polish IMHO. I love VM and use it on every car; it's my favorite product. However, in your case, you don't need it before AIO.

I'd use Menzerna IP followed by Menzerna FP. Both are very safe and have zero fillers and will leave a wonderful surface to top with AIO.

Then use your P21s!

I think the Autopia store has the the Mezerna Duo. Click here They have nice, informative descriptions.
