Favorite Detailing Song

I figured that since we have a favorite driving song, it would only be natural to find out what we Autopians like to listen to while detailing.

In my case, I listen according to my moods. Usually, it's some variant of House.

Usually some form of Trance/Electonica. Something along the lines of the melodic/liquid/ambient genre.

Of course when I am in a hurry, local punk music (Pennywise/Unwritten Law) or AC/DC is what I turn to.

hmm, I never thought of listening to music while I detail my car. I usually just enjoy the peacefulness of it. But I have a portable MD player I just got, don't really get to use it that much, so I might have to start listening to it while I clean. Maybe I'll pick up the pace a bit.

I like Trance. Even when surfing Autopia I blast the trance (lio, darude, and and a boat load of other DJ's(currently have around 1.7 gigs of MP3's on my hard disk.)) 4 speakers +sub + Sound Blaster Audigy MP3+ sound card = One happy kid :)

Well since I went to the trouble to install the Speakers and the Kenwood system in the garage you KNOW I love to Jam while detailing! As I am in the garage now I have MP3s running. Looks like a little...........

Creed

Nickleback

Johnny Cougher

Metallica

Snoop Dog/Dr Dre

Puddle of mud

And many others, I know it is a weird mix, But I LOVE misic!!!!!!!!!!!:wavey

for those of you who like any form of techno/trance surf on over to www.digitallyimported.com they are a web radio station that run all trance all the time. I love it.

As for me, when the vacuum is off (meaning I can actually hear the music) I will listen to a variety of rap/rock/techo or whatever CD i have handy.

I listen to a lot of music while detailing.

Unfortunately, I used up all the juice from my battery twice! I need to get a boom box or something.

As long as it was a big hair band then its all good. Especially if it was Metallica! They are the kings of rock IMO. I'm usually good throwing in a Metallica CD or Linkin Park disk. They are fast bands and make the work go by quicker it seems. The Offspring is great for that too. The Offspring make better driving music than detailing music though. CRANK IT! :D

No music! No Nothing! I have Tinnitus [ Alien noise in ears ]

like William Shatner and Tony Randall.

Believe it or not one the reasons I detail is because it

helps my tinnitus. The decibels get lower. Strange thing.

I hope no other Autopians are afflicted with this menacing

malady. Your so lucky you can enjoy music.

Rock On!

Music? I like to relax while detailing to the strange whirling of a Porter Cable, or perhaps the roar of a DeWalt rotary. :D

Seriously, I don't listen to any music while detailing. I enjoy the peace and quiet.

Ummm, I must be a bit older. My garage computer has the CD "The English Rock Invastion" in it. Another one of those classics left over from the "10 Greatest CD's of All Time" collections that I bought at Sam's for about $10 right after I got my first CD player. Those bargain bundles are great, you get at least 2 or 3 decent songs out of the 100 or so that come on the CDs. Besides, who could possibly doubt that Herman's Hermits was the greatest band ever in the world? LOL!

For driving I like when Alan Jackson "Drive" comes on.

Or if I want to drive fast maybe some Blink 182. Or anything from the late 80's early 90's. I admit it I grew up on Crue , GnR and Poison.

When I'm detailing how about Trick Pony "It's Just What I Do When I Can't Get No Lovin'"

LOL

OK - I'll show my age and probably have y'all laughing me right off the board with my music choices -- but here goes:

Beach Boys

Beatles

Almost anything from the 80s -- We have a new 80s station & I'm in heaven! Thinking back to my "glory days!" ;)

The Cars

Electric Light Orchestra (ELO)

Also love music from the late 50s & 60s -- anything Motown

I guess that about does it!!

There's a new radio station in the Miami area that plays "Dance/Trance/etc." type music, which I crank up on the Monsoon stereo (200 watts worth) and go to town.

They do stream, so you can chect them out at: Party 93.1 FM. Pretty good stuff, if you're into it. And the tempo certainly helps put a good motion on my technique !

The past few weeks I've always intended to play some tunes and fire up a stogey while washing the car. I even get them ready as I gather my cleaning stuff.

But I'm so focused on the car and what needs to be done that every time I forget the music and the cigar!!! This has happened the past four washes (I just got a new humidor and some tasty Macanudo Hyde Park's and Partagas Maduro's).

I was washing the car on Monday and the next door neighbor lady startled me by asking a question. I was so into washing that I didn't see her 10 feet away.

I'll put a stereo in the garage and turn it on while I'm working on the car but I probably won't ever hear it.
