favorite carpet shampoo

Here is a great, and very inexpensive, method for cleaning carpets. It's possibly the most effective way, short of a hot water or steam extractor, to clean auto carpets. It handles ungodly amounts of soil and leaves a nice clean result that smells like nothing. Best part is that every batch of Oxy mix you make costs pennies.

i like the little Turtle Wax shampoo in the red bottle, or it has a red top. Works great for smaller type shampoo jobs to remove dirt and whatnot. For more stained carpet, use the above procedure.

You could also use a all purpose cleaner or a heavy degreaser as well. Something you may already have laying around that you use to clean your wheels/tires with.

That is one of the best carpet cleaners I have used off the shelf. I've got multiple examples of the kind of mess that it can clean up. Very good stuff.

Are these to cleaners low foaming or extractor safe?

Tanswer the first post I like and mainly use PRO WAX #C-83 Xtract power. I also like the following carper cleaners, 4* carpet and Upolstery cleaner, Folex, Kids and Pets brand and 303 spot cleaner.

That is what we used on a car lot I worked at once. Just be careful: most HD degreasers, if not diluted correctly will take white lettering off of your dash and steering components, and things like your trunk/gas/hood releases. Also, dry and in the sun, some degreasers can stain paint or damage recently re-painted panels. It also eats through your wax. I used the commercial degreasers strong, 1:2-1:4, depending on the product.

Right now I'm using a Zep product, but unless you have a supplier, the website is awful to go through. I'm using "HD Dry Foam Shampoo Cleaner", but it could be called something different in your area. Comes in a 539gram aerosol can. Customers who don't want to pay for a full shampoo love it.

man!!!! so many to choose from ...i'm soooo confused!!! :)
Are any of these cleaners in local stores. I would like to try
a store bought one first to see the results before i have to buy off
the net. I liked that cleaning method...Is that for real dirty and stained
carpets?

Another OTC foaming cleaner that works well on general dirtiness (not so much for spots, IMO) is Blue Coral's Dri-Clean (Simoniz in Canada). You can also find it in trigger bottles too.

orsmith. There are a lot of carpet products out there. You need to buy a few and try them yourself. I have used a number and most seem to work reasonably well, though some better than others.

Big Leegr, I like the Blue Coral Dri Clean product as well, however I like it (and use it strictly) for spot cleaning. A great headliner product.

Folex works well for me. I use a product from my local distributor, but you have to watch your dilution ratios or it will get too sudsy.

Nature's Miracle for pet stains.

The Bissel cleaners forumulated for their carpet cleaners are also good performers.

There are really just too many to mention them all.

What makes you say that OxyClean sucks?!? I think it was improperly prepaired.
Just last week I did my floormats and carpet with the method that, SA Detailer mentioned here. It came out looking great! Pictures will come when I get my digi back.

The following should be available at Target,Wal Mart, Lowes or HD.
Ocy Clean
Folex
Preston foam
Turtle wax foam
Kids and Pets

You may be able to find 303 at Boat or RV store.
I have not tried the Oxy clean method so I cannot comment.

I am not sure about the Upholstery Shampoo But I can tell you for sure that the Chemical Guys Lightniong Fast Carpet Extractor is AWESOME  I first used it in an extractor and now I keep it also in a spray bottle for the smaller stains Very Nice and a great price

Tuff Stuff , smells good, cleans great, doesent get the fabric to wet , and does not need to be vacuumed when dry. Also woolite and water 6 parts water 1 part woolite, use for everthing. Ammonia and water, mix in a bucket, use to wipe down cloth seats and carpets. Murphys Oil Soap in the spray bottle , use for vinyl and leather and plastic only, do not use on fabric or carpets.

well i went out and bought the prestone interior cleaner and i was impressed!!!
i didn't have a major job or anything but it got the job done. Carpets look new. I just followed the directions and presto...clean carpets.
Now for a big job i don't know yet...i will have to wait and see but prestone
