Faded & Oxidized !!!

Clean Dean

Keep it clean !!!
I spent the last 2 days on this 1983 Mecedes 300 Turbodiesel, and I was really pushed hard detailing this car in every aspect. The engine bay was a grease pit and the interior had a very bad incident of multiple cola cans exploding inside !!!

Here is the the faded and badly oxidized paint that took me in excess of 6 hours to correct. All steps done with a rotary buffer.

The first step was to completely compound the car with Meguiars Power Cleaner Compound and a Yellow wool pad.

Second step was Meguiars DACP with a Green Edge pad.

Third Step was Meguiars Swirl Free Polish and Blue Edge Pad.

Final seal with UPP and topped with Nattys.

Note: Second and third pic is after initial pass with PCC. This stuff really cuts well !!!

Class is in session and I'm taking notes!!! Great job. I hope you feel good about this one-you should! :bigups

Beautiful job on bringing that paint back to life :bigups
In the first picture I thought the color was brown.
Do you have any B/A shots on the interior. I'm interested on how you dealt with the cola situation.

I'm curious, is this a new owner? I can't believe that someone would have a car and let it get to that shape and suddenly want to have a full detail done on it.

Happy Holidays

Thanks everyone !!! I detailed that car indoors, and degreased the engine in sub-freezing temps outside. You would not believe it. I detailed the car indoors and I take horrible indoor shots with my Sony U-30 . I just bought the Sony W1 and will be working on taking quality indoor shots with that camera. As soon as I wrestle the camera away from my wife !!! She loves the 2.5" LCD and the ease of use.

And to think I bought the camera specifically for my business !!!

Thanks again !!!

BTW... One good thing about the harsh indoor florescent lighting is that EVERY scratch and swirl sticks out like a sore thumb. When a car looks really good under these lights it looks flawless in natural sunlight !!!

My back is holding up well. But in the past couple of months my knees really sarted to take a beating. The skin on my right knee has exema and I finally decided to wear these all the time while buffing.
