Eye Protection

As I get older I have slowly come to the conclusion that I'm not invincible and I need to take precautions when working.

I have a set of cheaper protective eye glasses that I've used for a while but I broke them the other day so I'm looking for something new/better. Jus curious what everyone else uses and likes

Right now I'm looking at a set of Uvex goggles or Dewalt goggles. I'm leaning toward a goggle style this time just to prevent something from slipping around the lens. Both of these goggles I'm looking at also allow for eye glasses to be worn underneath them which would be good when I need to wear glasses. The major difference is the Uvex offers replaceable lenses.

I should have worn eye protection as well to put over my glasses. My lenses are now ruined from all the chemicals. I am in the process of getting new glasses and buying those old school sunglasses covers that clip on the front the frames that you can simply move up and down as you need it.

That's why I'm looking at goggles that go over glasses. I don't want to ruin my sunglasses or eyeglasses. Neither is cheap to replace and when working with some chemicals I don't want even a little to make it around the lenses.

For just normal washing and drying I don't have a problem wearing my Oakleys but if I'm using a strong wheel cleaner or degreaser I don't want to mess up the lenses.

I also applied the NanoSkin Shield Sealant to my Oakleys to protect the lens also.

I'm going to OC 2.0 mine. JK

Rocket good post. Eye protection isn't something to be lazy about.
