Extractor

BigChevMan

Broke Detailer
I was going to buy this extractor since I plan to start my detailing business up again part time in the spring, but alas...money is not in the right pot right now to spring for this. Darn Christmas Presents!

It's about 200 bucks cheaper than anyplace you'll find online with the buy it now, and I'm not sure what the reserve is set at.

Durrmaid Upholstery Cleaner, Carpet Spotter, Extractor - (eBay item 320195803080 end time Dec-22-07 15:35:41 PST)

I hope someone puts this to good use.

I just realized that it's non-heated. Still not a bad deal I guess. I haven't checked what the non-heated one's go for.

I have the heated version of that. It's a nice extractor, although now I wish I would have gone bigger. I hate having to stop, refill, wait for the water to heat up, and then pick back up where I left off. I'll probably end up selling it at some point to get a bigger one.

I have a heated Aztec Extractor Mini. It holds about 2 gals. of water and heats it in about 15 minutes. I'm a mobile detailer, so the smaller version was what I wanted. I carry water so if it runs low I just add more from my tank, and let it heat up again. I can do 2 vehicles with a full tank. I can always find something to do while the water is reheating. I was not even thinking about an extractor without heat. I was told it was a waste. Now I'm glad I bought the heated unit! The heat is what removes the hard ground in stains.:think2

How much did you pay for your unit and from where?

One thought i always had about these and the Little Green Machine was to buy a cheap coffee maker to heat up some water, when hot water wasn't available.

I have seen that mytee makes inline water heaters. I was considering getting one for my pressure washer to do other things besides cars with. I'm just not sure if it would damage the pressure washer with the heat or not.

If you plan on doing this, you should really look into the specs of your pressure washer or check with the manufacturer. My old shop had a very high quality Landa pressure washer but we had to turn down the heat coming from the basement water heater. Our sales rep had advised us to keep the incoming heat less than 150* (i think, it's been a while). Heat greatly reduces the longevity of the pump in your pressure washer.

Yeah..It's an industrial duty pressure washer that used to be sold by sherwin williams. I'll have to try and find information on it. Although there was a heated unit for sale on craigs list for a little over 4 grand.

Please PM me when you plan on selling!

This is exactly what I'm looking for.

i have the mytee lite II...love it...just need to get the heater working again...I think it might be because I have always used a 100ft extension cord because the cars I usually do are not that close to an outlet...

This is excellent advice, alot of people are unaware of the fact that you cannot just run with hot water, although I have run my cold water PW with water ranging from 150-180 for a year and have not had any trouble with it, I have in the past and have seen a few others, has a lot to do with the hose also, will soften any slightly wore spots and not only makes a bit of a mess, it also startles the crap out of you when in blows
