Exterior PC machining | B5 A4

I detailed my friend's B5 A4 with a bit over 100K on the clock.

The color is Santorin Blue Pearl; if you get it in the light the color really pops (especially when you see the 'after' shots).

I didn't make the paint perfect since I didn't have any compounding supplies; also, not sure how well the PC would have worked for the tough stuff.

But it certainly was an improvement.

Approximately 6hrs total.

thats a good start.. You could of got a little better finish if you used more aggressive polishes to begin with to get those deeper swirls or scratches out.

Also 5.5" pads will correct better than 6.5 on a DA for future reference..

Is there a specific reason you used Adams polishes instead of meguiars or optimum or menzerna

IMO your PC would have been fine for tough stuff. Just use more aggressive polish and more aggressive pad wool or surbuf and you would get great results with a PC

Thanks for the advice. I don't have more aggressive pads or compounding polish. I'm still in the trial and error stage as this is only my third car. The first two were practically brand new cars, so I wasn't properly prepared with products/tools.

From my research, Adam's has gotten good reviews.

Any recommendation for compounding polish?

Everyone loves the new meguiars m105 and m205 because of how well they cut. I have both and they work great for me. Also optimum has new spray polishes out where it's in a spray bottle and you can lightly mist the surface of the pad those cut very well everyone says. Also menzerna SIP and follow up with menzerna IP

Any of those 3 brands have good polishes that would finish that Audi off with ease.

Nice work, but always use the least aggressive product before going ahead with a more aggressive compound.

For your own or enthusiast's car, saving the clearcoat from thinning out is the ultimate goal.

I suggest you try Optimum Polish on your white pad and then once you obtain perfection to use Optimum Poli-Seal to keep it looking great !
