Explorer Interior and '89 Turbo TA

I did this detail a while back but just now pulled the pictures of the camera. It was an interior only detail that threw a little bit of everything at me - heavy soil, cigarette burns, spills, dog hair, etc., etc. It turned out to be one of those unfortunate situations where nearly nothing could restore it, only improve it. I did the best I could with my current resources.

Process:

-Vacuum (up to 5 times in some areas)

-APC 1:4 everywhere (multiple treatments)

-Picollo steamer everywhere (multiple treatments)

-Duct tape for hair removal from seats

This '89 Turbo TA has 64k original miles and only had 300 miles put on it in the last three years. It had a good amount of dirt on it from sitting and needed a good freshening. It cleaned up nicely. Photographing white at mid-day doesn't allow for the best pictures, but I made do.

Process:

-Vacuum

-Meguiar's Interior Quick Detailer

-Wash with Zaino Z7 and sheepskin mitt (two-bucket method)

-Clay with Zaino Z18 and DP 4-in-1 lube

-Polish hood with PO106FF via polishing pad @ 1500 rpm

-Clean paint with Zaino Z-AIO via polishing pad and PC speed 5

-Seal with Zaino Z2 Pro

-Final wipedown with Zaino Z8

-Wheel wells got Robbie's Nu-Glo 1:1

-Tires got Zaino Z16 x 2

Questions/comments/advice always welcome.

I would have turned that first one down cold. Great work and I hope you were paid well for it.

Same here. That interior was disgusting.

Outstanding job on the T/A, even in the full sun the paint looks wet! :)

I want pics of the 03/4 Cobra from up in the shop bay...

The TA looks great. Wasn't that the Indy pace car from '89?

why turn it down?????

just charge accordingly, and let them know its not going to be cleaned, its going to be improved...only other thing I see is replacing the carpet, which is typically 300+

good job on the interior, got a question though, the white spot on the cup holder is been sit there too long?i got spot like that on my customer car once, customer was unsatisfie, any better idea to take that off? anybody?

Thanks, everyone! If the Explorer hadn't belonged to a friend, I *would* have turned it down - just not my cup of tea :)

I messed up...I should have bought that Cobra. It's an HP twin turbo car, and it's BAD! Yes, the TTA was the Indy Pace Car.

That spot was permanent as far as I could tell. I tried several things on it with no success.

That TTA is absolutely stunning I would love to add one to my collection you NEVER see them in Canada. Great work as alway's thank's for posting.

Do you ever get a chance to line up the SS with any of these cars? I think the TTA would be a good race
