Exploding fungus

I was listening to talk radio this morning,it was a gardening show(i know geeky and unmanly).Anyway a lady called in about exploding fungus on her car,and his suggestion was to wax it to prevent further fungus from sticking to car.The lady had gone to detailer and they could not get it off.I have some on my vinylsiding i cant get off either,other than sanding and i dont want to do that.Anyway have yall run across this on a auto before?

Yes, The first thing you have to do is to pop off the "head" its best to use clay. Then what I found works best is all-purpose mixed 15:1 and one of those bug/tar sponges, you know the yellow one. It is time consuming but in my experience the quickest and safest way. The spores come from hard wood mulch, they can launch themselves up to 10'. It is almost easier to let them dry out a little, then when you click the head off the majority of the spore comes with it.
