Experience with BMW's and Imola Red

Hi everyone...

I think it's time for me to be looking for a new ride, and an Imola Red M3 has caught my eye. I wanted to know if anyone had any experience with this color? How well does it hide swirls?

My brother's Titanium Silver BMW is a piece of cake to detail...

I've tried my damndest with my black Civic Si and I still can't get rid of the swirls

I'm hoping a change to that beautiful red will help my sanity :D

When I was deciding on a color for my M3 I discussed colors with the person at the dealership involved with the detailing. His opinion was that the Imola Red was a pretty good color for a daily driver, and was not especially difficult to maintain. What did I get? Jet Black - the most difficult but also perhaps the most satisfying becuase it really loooks good when you do the work. By the way, I have had my M3 for 1 1/2 years now and still it is a thrill every time I drive it which is daily.

My girlfriend has an Imola Red Saab.

Her paint looks amazing (Klasse'd last August and garaged/covered all winter). There were swirls on it when Klasse was applied and there still are. Under direct sunlight they are easily visible, but this color doesn't seem to be too affected overall with swirls compared to the overall look.

I love the color, as does she, so I'd say go for it.

I am not sure if this is the same red .. its a 2000 325i and a garage queen. In the sun the fine spiderwebs and swirls were visable at the right angles but easily polished out with Menzerna FP .. Klasse was applied. Most of the swirling was washing/drying tecnique. So it will be visable in red especially to the enquiring eye.

I have a 2000 Imola Red M Roadster. When properly prepped, and waxed with a good carnauba it displays a depth that rivals black cars. To be honest I think I've had better luck keeping the swirls off than I have with my 2003 Indi Blue Mini. Go for it, it's a gorgeous color.

Well,

I just got back from looking at it. The original owner has done a nice job with it, but it definitely has some swirl marks all over the car. They certainly isn't as noticable as a black car.

I think I'm going to go for it.

Thanks for the replies...
