Thus far I've read for applying SG the pad should be moist (water or QD) or dry (YoSteve I think). I'm Klasse-ing tomorrow what are your thoughts ? Also MF pad (my current plan) or foam pad ?

Thanks for your input.

I apply SG using a dry pad. I apply AIO using a pad with a little water on it.

I would apply it with a foam pad. It gives thin even application which is your best bet for SG.

The Klasse SG is extemely watery. You really don't need to moist your applicator at all. I'm a big fan of foam pads for this task. Laters

on this one, dry foam applicator.

It may be hard to spread on the first panel, but as you go around the car it gets easier and easier, like butter after the first panel.

Just my 2 cents,

Jason

What's your gameplan for removing the SG?

I used my Porter Cable, wasn't happy with the results.

Liked the Showroom L. method of a slightly damp MF cloth, great results. Also used a MF towel with Eagle QD on it same results.

SG is a waterless formula and the sponge allows you to spread it really thin. On the sponges I use, I cut the "sharp" sides off too. I also use one section of the sponge and rotate and turn over etc.

I'm a MF applicator user for the AIO too :)

Hello Don, SG is watery in a sense that it's thin like water (very runny), but it does not contain any water in it (SG is petrolium distillate based), so adding water to it (as in a damp sponge) does not make it any better. That's what I meant. :)

Not sure if it's even possible to reverse this damage. My custom exhaust system is rusting or just plain turning brown on me. It's my fault for not showing this part of the car any love.

Is it possible get some shine out of exhaust pipes(undercarriage) that are turning brown?

Take look where the h-pipe meets under the car...not a close up but hopefully everyone can imagine the color change I'm speaking of.

Are you talking about the tips or the exhaust itself. If your talking about your custom exhaust if they were made of stainless then you would be golden unfortunately, it looks like standard 2.5" pipe and yes it will discolor. Nothing you can do about it other then replace with stainless or have them rerouted

Welome to TruthInDetailing. Hope this doesn't discourage you and hope you stick around

BTW The Stang is sweet looking. Got anymore pics :toetap05:

Not the tips....the pipes. It's a borla stinger exhaust system... I found a forum for what I'm looking for. Anyone in the Chicagoland area that does this type of work? it's definitely out of my league.

I love TID...not going anywhere in fact I hope to learn more and more and master the art of detailing.

Instead going through what he did on SVT get some quad zero steel wool and a polish like mothers aluminum polish and spend some time rubbing the polish with the steel wool and constantly wiping the residue. You will be surprised out how nice the exhaust will look after that. Here are so pics of Hermann's exhaust I did that was worse than yours with the process I suggested above. I polished the exhaust all the way up to the H-pipe.
