EX vs UPP on black car?

I have a black grand prix, 2000, and am going to try either ex or upp instead of zaino this summer. However, I also plan on detailing my gf's silver hundai 99 and my roommates 96 gold maxima...suggestions?

Haven't tried EX, but I have found UPP to be spectacular on dark cars. I have used it on a black 93 Integra, and a Red 97 Hyundai, both of which turned out stunning.

I've tried UPP on black and agree with 2wheelsx2, it gives very nice results. I haven't tried EX on black, but I have tried both on my blue car. The EX seems to give it a bit more depth and and a darker, richer color (it's tough to explain). I don't think you can go wrong with either one.

for minor swirls (only seen under 500w lamp or direct sunlight)would I ned anything more than the SS1 from poorboy's or is it too hard to tell without a pic? I guess I'm deciding on whether to get 3m products (but they're so expensive) or menzerma or maybe poorboys if i chose to go with EX. I am going to use a rotory buffer.

I'm using the SSR products from Poorboy. You can't really tell which level to start at without seeing the marks that are to be removed. The light, medium and heavy cuts of SSR do a fine job and then I'd follow with the polish and EX. The Poorboys stuff does a great job and you'll like Steve's service and prices. :)

I have used both on black cars recently. The EX has more depth, the UPP more gloss. Personal preference. Regardless they are both stunning and easy to use.

I have pics of two jetta's both black.

1st one: DACP, VM, EX

Wow, thanks for the pics, I do see the difference. BTW, why do you use VM before EX/UPP? Thought since they are sealents they go on right after polishing?

I have used both. Both are superior products. I prefer the carnauba richness that one gets with Poorboy's EX. Both are extremely easy and a pleasure to use. Also EX tends not to hold a film after rains. :bounce Great for black cars that are driven in all types of weather.

These are my results and yours may differ depending on quality of prep, detailing between washes, frequency of waxing, area where parked ( physician parking lot is dust/dirt free an no trees (sap), amount of time spent exposured ( garaged 15-16 hrs/day)and type of rain in your area ( low acidic rain here). :wavey

VM and GEPC/SEPC are just ultra-fine finishing polishes (cleanser) and just eliminate the very minor surface marring which enhances gloss and surface smoothness. Excellent easy to use adjuncts to sealants/waxes. :xyxthumbs

Well I use the VM before UPP because it adds a little bit of depth. With the EX it is not as noticeable. I am still experimenting with EX.

I made the decision to go with EX based on several recent threads and PM ing several people who has used both products. The majority seemed to like the EX. I guess the final factor that helped me make up my mind was the ability to apply EX over almost anything without problems.

So would you apply EX over FP or would you apply a layer of AIO then EX? I have zaino for the winter months here in WI, but I want something that lasts about a month or so and looks very rich and deep. What is your process when using EX?
