Ex-p

My EX-P normally beads up very well. Do you have anything like AIO or VM on the car under the EX-P or is it bare? What sort of prep work did you do and how long as the EX-P been on the car? I'm just curious because I have had good durability from EX-P to date.

I had VM + EX-P x2 on my car and it sat through 5" of rain Sunday - Tuesday and was driven 300 miles through 2 major thunderstorms on Wednesday plus it sat through another major storm Wednesday night. I didn't have as much beading as usual when I washed it Thursday but it was beading like mad when it rained on Saturday.

I've got some EX-P plus on the vertical surfaces and I'm interested in seeing how well it holds up.

How long has the EXP been on the car? I havent been able to get more than about 3 weeks out of it on 3 separate vehicles. 2 are garaged nightly and the third is parked in the driveway. I've tried applying it right after SSR 2.5/1 and also after a IPA wipedown to remove SSR's oils and the results are the same. Also tried it after Menz. IP/FP2 as a prep with the same outcome. Oddly, I've had better durability out of both EX and Natty's. :nixweiss

The car is washed, clayed, VM, and then EX-P. I was done about 3 weeks ago.

hope this helps you - from this past saturday - clay, ssr3, ssr1, ex-p

I'd wash the car again and apply another coat and see if it beads.

I love EX-P. Unfortunately I tried it after Blackfire and EX-P's durability leaves a lot to be desired after BF. 1-2 layers of ex-p usually lasted (beaded for) me about 1-1.5 months.

Im actually contemplating going back to gw....im about to make a order because its that time again and I cant decide.

I think I might even consider using EX for dark and light colored cars, steve at poorboys just emailed me and said that is what he would choose.

FWIW, I've been using EX like crazy and absolutely love it. See if Steve can send you a sample first and decide from there.

That being said, one things for sure. You know you liked GW, and you will always have a place for it, so ordering more of it even if you only use it as a backup wouldn't be a bad idea. I can't think of anyone that sells both 1Z and PB's products together anyway, so you might have to buy them separate regardless.

I already have the EX and EX-P its just that time to order again. I have probably just not perfected the app. yet so ill give it a little more time.

I don't recall for sure, but I don't think EX-P beaded much for me either. This would be after clay and GEPC. Actually I had two layers of EX-P on the car and I don't think it beaded much. :nixweiss

Do you park under trees when it is raining? Nothing kills beading like having all that crap wash off trees and on to your car. I remember being stuck one day having to park with half my car under a tree. The half that was under the tree was not beading at all after being there for a couple of hours. The half that was not under the tree was beading like crazy.

Anyway, EX-P should be good for at least 3 months under normal conditions, but for me the regular EX lasts longer and also stays slicker longer.

Well Scott I have decided to go with EX for both light and dark colored cars after talking to steve at poorboys.

so no more EX-P.... And on were the car is parked I should have been mor specific...its a cutomers and my car and its outsid 24/7, well the customers is out side

My car is never parked under a tree. And I believe the car was pretty clean when it wasn't beading. It's not a big deal though, because I always top it with something else anyway.
