Ever had problems with #82 SFP being sticky?

I used SFP today and it was tougher than usual to buff off after working with my PC.

Anyone have problems with #82 being sticky and hard to buff off?

Perhaps I used too much, or didn't work it long enough. Never had a problem like this with SFP before:nixweiss

Yep, I have had it, but cannot narrow down what the problem was.

Were you using a finishing pad?

Nope I was using a LC white polishing pad. Even though SFP didn't come off cleanly after I applied VM everything looked good. Then I topped with S100 and look real good:xyxthumbs

Funny thing was that it was only difficult on the roof and hood. On the rest of the car SFP worked fine.:nixweiss

Hmmm, when it has happened to me, it has been over the entire car.

Do you think that there may have been more contamination or oxidation on the horizontal surfaces that was "gumming" up? Maybe the SFP was too mild on those areas. :nixweiss

I didn't think so just looking at it but it's possible. If it happens again I'll get the DACP out and see what happens.

Thanks for the tip:xyxthumbs

Hmmm, I use #82 today on my car and it was a little work to get off but not bad. I've only used it once before and it was the same so I can't compare it to anything. It is definatly harder to get off than NXT or VM. I would compare it to removing S100.

I occasionally have that problem when working out oxidized single stage paint but not on clearcoats. It seems to be what ebpcivicsi was referring to, the surface contaminents get kind of gummy. When that happens, I step up to DACP.
