A few months back someone posted a question about these certain marks on their car after polishing/waxing(I searched and couldn't find it). I believe he posted pics and upon seeing them I was almost excited because I constantly got the same marks on my car after detailing and couldn't figure out *** it was. It basically looks like snail or slug trail (Yes the real thing not the "other" type) LOL. It wasn't slimy, kind of like polish dust residue but not as hard. Weird snail like designs all over the car.

Anyway, I originally thought it had something to do with my car cover but I quickly ruled that out. After seieng the pics posted, I was intrigued knowing it wasn't just me!

Anyway, I figured out what it was (I think) a few weeks back. Apparently, moths LOVE Zaino (Possibly other products as well, but I have only seen these markings after I use Zaino. In the AM when I walked out to my car I saw the marks again and quickly grabbed the Z6 to remove them. Low & behold I found a dead moth on the hood and realized that the marking were the powder residue from the wings of moths. At least that is my theory and I am sticking to it!

Anyone else experience this with Zaino or other products?

That was me! Moths? Moths??? Sheesh, who would've guessed. Thanks for the detective work. Here's a couple pics of what it looked like on my car. No Zaino here, I've had a few different LSPs on it this year while trying out different stuff.

Now that you mention moths, if you look at the stuff on my car you can sort of see wing-shaped prints.

LOL i have seen that on my tahoe.

and yes i have seen moths on it. wow. I wonder if the lsp attracts and holds the dust on the wings, or the dust etches into the lsp.

What I find weird is that it only happens for the first few days or so after an LSP application.

Man I am glad I am not the only one because I was thinking I was going nuts!

I know it's happened when I haven't waxed because I had the car painted not long before this, but I do QD on a regular basis.
