ESOTERIC - Open House 2017

TroyScherer

Ummm.... Ya.....

There is an open house @ ESOTERIC - Fine Auto Finishing just outside of Columbus coming up on Saturday June 3rd (6/3) if anyone is interested. I have attended the past 2 years. There are usually some cars to see as well as some groups that attend. Obviously since this is detailing related you can buy and watch/try demos they have going on.

Always mean to attend, then the alarm goes off at 6am that Saturday (2.5hrs away) and the plans go up in smoke/sleep.

Great bunch of folks there, they`ve been a great help to me over the last year even though I don`t purchase the majority of my stuff from them.

Youtube series on their products are pretty cool too.

Stopped in last time I was in the area and got a nice tour.

I did a quick look on there site to see where they were located and get more information on the open house. I did not see it listed, only one for 2014 ? Seems strange to me, they must be too busy to update it.

I hope one of you writes up a brief field report for the rest of us.
I just purchased my first item from them this week. OverCoat.

We plan to be there unless my alarm clock does me wrong.

You`ll love the Overcoat...it`s one of the best products I`ve used; water behavior and self cleaning characteristics are phenomenal.

Probably leave the Vette and WRX at home and drive the Civic, dripping in Kamikaze Miyabi, ISM, Infinity Wax and Overcoat. Overkill for a commuter car?

Do you use a microfiber applicator, or spray onto a MF towel? This is regarding Overcoat.
You guys have sold me on trying this.
Thanks in advance.

I kinda like spraying it into Gyeon Baldwipe towel to apply, buff lightly with Gyeon Polishwipe plush side; dunno why, just somehow ended up with tha combo by chance.

First time I used Overcoat I sprayed on panel but since I kinda suck st applying things in that manner, I tried the above. Spraying it on car just made a mess for me...but it usually takes me a bit to figure out that I`m *way* over applying...a little bit of this stuff really goes a loooooong way.

Have even gone so far as apply with microsuede cloth and Gyeon foam coating `block`. That was entirely pointless method though. Used 3x5 blue microfiber applicator for a bit but i just seems have better success (no streaking or anything ) with the towel apply, towel buff off method. This month, anyway...

Lots of nice cars, couple of displays, really nice facility

Like a kid in a candy store...new Overcoat formula coming soon...slick as can be, easier application. Gave it a try on the test hood...nice.
