Equipment purchase opinions needed

So I'm ready to buy a steamer this week. I am also debating a small extractor. so here are my options:

1. VX5000 plus Duramaid 1800

2. VX5000 plus rigid 6 gallon WD Vac.

I realize the is. Big price diFference between one and 2. I currently own a 16 gallon rigid which is too big, a metro vac , and a bissel. So do I go for 1 or 2 in terms of usability and portability....cost not a concern between the two options.

Get the vx5000 and a mytee lite 2 (off ebay, cheaper still warrantied), its what I have and I have been very pleased with both mytee and the guy who sells the vx direct. I couldn't be more satisfied with the customer service they provide. I don't work for either one of these companies, just a very happy customer.

How much is the VX5000 David? I know where you can get a great steamer here locally for 1500.00 I got the exact one and Its been used hard for 3 years now. Also instead of a rigid why not get the Aztec Extractor. You can you use it as a VAC as well. I also know where you can get it locally. DEALERGOODIES.COM There right here in Manhiem and have everything. I have an account set up if you need me to go with ya.

Jose: thanks for the info on the mytee. I'm going to look into that when I can get off my blackberry and to a proper PC.

Barry: the VX is a little over 600 with free shipping and all the attachments. I'd be interested in an Aztec but I don't know I could afford it. Thee duramaid is like a little over 700 plus shipping. But I'd like to look into the dealergoodies option. Let me chew on it while I sit in a snowy wedding reception.

no problem man one of these days I need to take you over to the store and show it to ya. 600 for a steamer is a know brainer. make sure its a continous one. what I mean is make sure you can fill it while it still stays warm. Its a big deal when using them.

Thanks Barry. Looks like the Aztec specs out almost Identically to the Durrmaid. Nice price too. Ill talk to you this week if you want and we can meet up at that store?

Don't buy the Durrmaid unless you want to spend $700 on a red paper weight! Been there, done that and ended up with the Aztec. Durrmaid is a cheapened version of the Aztec. Mine broke less than a year after purchased and the owner wouldn't warranty the pump that failed. I ended up selling it and buying an Aztec. The quality of the Aztec was much better than the Durrmaid.

So option 1 with an Aztec sounds like a winner. Thanks for the help guys. Barry we still gotta go shopping man....that place looks fun!

David do you have an air compressor? if not that sgould be first on your list. it will change everything for you plus speed things up!!

Completely agree with Mike....I have had my Durrmaid break 4 times over the past year. It's currently serving as a big red hose holder and not much else. I had a hell of a time with Durrmaid's customer support as well; they were dreadful. I will be selling it shortly and getting a Mytee...I thought about the Aztec, but will gladly spend a few more $$ for more quality. (Not a knock on the Aztec, purely based on Mytee's reputation).

One thing to keep in mind about the aztec is that it holds less water, which means you may have to refill it up a couple times during a detail. My 3 gallon tank for clean water and 3 gallons for the dirty stuff seems to be just about enough for those nasty jobs on an suv or bigger sedan. That's I why I ended up going with a mytee. It does have a good price though! if your jobs are too bad then just go with the aztec.

Give some thought to obtaining your carpet cleaning needs from a local distributor of truck mounted extractors. They'll offer commercial grade goods, free advice, and formal classes on stain removal, odor control and much more.

Look for distributors of Bridgepoint Systems, or Pro's Choice.

If they carry those brands, odds they'll offer serious equipment options.

We REALLY like this extractor. We have two 500 psi units.

I love my VX5000 steamer from steamer direct Steam Cleaner - Steam Cleaners - Vapor Cleaner - Commercial Steam Cleaners . This steamer is the BEST bang for the $$$ trust me I've looked for over a year. I now only need to use my extractor for the super dirty carpets. Leather cleaning is a breeze. Hard surfaces are snappy fast, vents are easy, cup holders, all the nooks and crannies. I did a write up on how to protect your steamer hose a super cheap fix.

My extractor is a mytee lite II, and works great.

The steamer and extractor are hands down my most used equipment for interiors. A close third is my air compressor.

What does that extractor cost JIMMY?

Cheers,

GREG

Do you have a link to any specs on the Nexus? I couldn't find anything on-line.

I've been using a Century 400 Sensei for a few years and love it but wouldn't mind a bit more pressure and lift next time around.

I think if you're gonna buy a heated extractor it is worth it to spend more then you'd originally plan. The more pressure you have the faster you'll be able to work and the more lift you have the faster the material will dry. The difference in the work will pay for the difference in price.

After trying to get one of the new Aztecs in the "Good Deals" section and failing, I found Danase selling Aztecs on ebay. I submitted an offer for 600 and got it with free shipping....brand new! I went with the Aztec due in part to the ill-reports of CS with Durrmaid and the size portability of the Aztec. It seemed like it was on-par or better with the Mytee in everthing but tank size and having a 2-stage. Plus at 600, I don't want to say its disposable, but that's a great price if it holds up.
