Equipment protection against theft and Insurance for Mobile Detailing

Does anyone know a reasonable, and reliable insurance company that will extended liability coverage to a mobile detailing business? My experience in looking at quotes is that insurance companies look at this as a high risk business and the rates seem to be very unreasonable.



My next question is about protection and security of detailing equipment and trailer etc...



I have and enclosed 5 x 8 trailer w/ramp that i have loaded up with equipment etc. Does anyone know of a security system or insurance coverage for theft? whats the best way to protect yourself from the coackroaches? do you think Lo Jack offers offers a motion system or a system that will trigger when the ramp is opened?



Ill Also add that I do not own my own home therefore homeowner's insurance does not apply to me. My Auto insurance provider does not offer liability or equipment insurance.

Check with the company that insures your house or car. My "garage keepers" insurance covers me up to $100k and a $1m aggregate. Covers vehicle, property damage, and anything that's listed as equipment. Of course, the more you cover, the more it costs. It costs me $1200/yr, so 1 detail a month pretty much pays for itself. Sure, its an added expense, but it'll probably cost more without it.

Let me also add in addition to my previous question. I live in southern california and do not own my own home therefore I do not have homeowner's insurance. I have also asked State Farm about coverage and they do not offer any (either business or equipment).

Funny, my garage keepers insurance is, in fact, through State Farm. Try looking through the yellow pages on commercial/business insurance providers.
 
Columbia Insurance Group offers garage insurance as well as Consumers Insurance. Try to find them on the web or call Agency Insurance Group here in Chattanooga, TN and ask for Bob Whittle. 423-892-8778
