Engine detailing contest...

Yep, some pretty nice work there! Some of them are amazing transformations! :bigups

Very cool! I'm not just saying this because it is our very own, DC Clean Dean but after looking at every single before and after engine pic, Clean Dean's entry is by far the best transformation.

As usual, another top shelf job by Dean. My vote has been cast!

C'mon gang, check it out and cast your vote!

Clean deans wins hands down the other work is very good but its missing the touch of dressing and a spot of dirty and grim here and there that clean deans work covers. There are some other good ones to.

No Worries Dean..

You have my vote!

You did an awesome job! IMHO, you did do the best job!

I hope your vote count catches up!

:)

Thanks !!!

That engine was done the morning I discovered the contest, and the deadline was the next day. I really wanted to enter a 1984 MB 240 Diesel I did about 6 weeks ago. That engine was incredibly filthy, but cleaned up incredibly !!!

Oh well !!! The contest looks close to me, with not one of the engines really standing out. Thanks again for the support !!!

Well, I voted for Dean's, because I thought it looked the best. I thought #2 was the best transformation, and very close to Dean's. However, #4, and #5 are way ahead................. I don't see it? :dunno

Somethings up with the #4 after pic. Specifically, a lot of added brightness to the pic. Unfair if you ask me, esp since he is in the lead. Surprisingly, some of them dont look good at all. Like #6, whats up with that? Thats the BEST engine detail you've done? The car is trashed...

BTW, you got my vote

Great job as usually CD!!!!!!!!!!!!! You have my vote. I also agree with M23Accord something is up with engine #4.

CD you have my vote, im pretty sure #4 turned up his brightness on his camera or something for both pictures. Check out the fullsize of both for #4 and look closely youll see a blueish glow around all the extra white shiny parts.

One newbie has just voted for you :bigups :bigups :bigups. One explanation. I voted for you after I've seen only your pics. But after seeing voting results I looked at other pictures as well. And I'm sure I made right decision :) What did you use? You definitely gave me a homework :D
One little observation about #4: I agree wit M23Accord. The after picture is very bright (too much brightness), but it is noticeable that engine isn't so perfectly detailed. Check out the rubber seal in the back - definitely something could be used for that. Also that black painted metal part in the front - also could be cleaned better. My impression - not for the 1st place at all. And 4th - it took me forever to open the pictures with my crappy 56k :D
P.S. The reason for the first place is that maybe he is also a member of some forum, or has very big family :D
P.P.S. The best thing would be if he is reading this:D:D
