Employee wages

If you have employees how are you paying them? Hourly rate? or Commission?

If hourly pay, how much?

If commission, what percent?

I have occasionally had employees, but I've found it very difficult to find quality help or even people who can handle Dallas heat in July and August; so my kids work with me then. I pay them $7.50 an hour and buy them lunch. Probably pay them more this year since they are getting pretty damn good.

I had a girl who worked for me for a few months and I was paying her $10 an hour. She was an excellent worker, but left when she went out of state to finish school. I haven't been able to find anyone near as good as her since. Right now, with all the rain we had in February, I'm going to just work for me right now to refill my bank account. ;)

I have a few staff and for me it depends on their level of skill. I usually start about $10 per hour CDN, and if they progress then the get more work and more money. My top guy gets $30.00 per hour, but I can really count on him and he works like a machine.
