Emergency Detail Kit

norahcrv

I wish . . .
One thing I'm missing from my old CR-V is that it had a lot of little cubbies & pockets in the back for carrying "emergency" detailing supplies. So I've been on the lookout for something I can use to contain them all in a neat package. I think I found the answer at WalMart last month. When closed up, it measures about 6"H x 10"W x 2"D & fits snugly under the cargo net.

I have all my (basic) products in the outer zipped pocket (along with a soft toothbrush & 2 pr. of nitrile gloves for any messy jobs).

And in the zipped section on the other side, an assortment of microfiber towels & even a tire dressing applicator.

Now I'm ready for the bugs, birds & dust of summer!! :excited:

That's cool! What size bottles are those? I've been looking for some bottles like that to make up a similar kit.

What kind of bag is that? What's it's "advertised use?" What section of Wally World has it?

WOW! It looks like you're able to carry more in your car than I'm able to stock in my garage. I like it. Small, but gets the job done.

It looks like you have a very well put together kit. Now all they need to do is make a tiny PC that plugs into your cigarette lighter and you'd be set to go as a mini mobile detailer.

Thanks for your kind words :D

. . . and maybe I could specialize & detail only "minis"? I wouldn't need a ladder/platform for those! ;)

The spray bottles are 4 oz. bottles that came with the "Turtle Wax Glass Cleaner" in them - picked them up for $ .50 ea. @ BigLots, dumped the glass cleaner in a big spray bottle, washed them out & filled with the products of my choice. The bottle on the far right (with Bold 'n Bright) was a 4 oz. bottle that I got from US Plastics when I ordered from them last fall.

That is a "Travel MakeUp" bag that I got in the Cosmetics aisle at WalMart. As I recall, it was about $12. They also had a smaller size, but it wouldn't hold all that I wanted to carry.

Reminds me of this but yours is definitely better :D :bigups ...So when can we see it in walmart?:crazy2:

Nice! Looks similar to my kit, but yours is much more compact. I use this:

I have MF towels, shop rags, latex gloves, foam applicators, a screw driver and razor blade scraper, and then a few of my most used 'emergency'

-Meguiar's Final Inspection
-Meg's APC+
-EO 20/20 Glass Cleaner
-Meg's #66 Quick Detailer (my cleaner wax of choice)
-EO Wet Tire Shine
-Auto Magic Cherry Interior Fragrance
-Meg's DACP
-Meg's NXT Tech Wax
-Meg's Natural Shine Interior Dressing
-Zaino Z10 Leather Conditioner
-NuFinish (don't laugh.... it actually isn't bad as a glass polish!)

Wow!
You people have some really nice emergency kits.
Evidently, you are planning for much more of an emergency than me.
I still just carry a small plastic spray bottle (3 oz.?) of S&W along with 2 MF towels in a plastic jar about 5" square by 6" high with a screw on lid that must be 4" in diameter. Those measuremants are a guess, but are probably pretty close. It once held Planter's Peanuts.
The MF towels keep the bottle from rattling around and the jar should catch any spillage if the bottle should freeze and break.
At one time, I also carried some glass cleaner and some QD, but since the S&W takes care of everything I took the QD and glass cleaner out.

I carry the basics in my Jeep as well. I've got a small bottle of P&S Spray-It for a quick clean-up, a few MF towels, a shop rag, and a small bottle of P&S Wipe N Shine. Granted I only keep it in the Jeep when it's clean or I'm on my way to a job, but it contains everything I need ;)
