Embbeded Particals / Brake Dust??

Just One More Coat
Just a general question.

I have done cars that on the anodized rims, some of them have embedded brake dust that nothing, I have used took it off effectively.

One thing that did work was the FK1 Decontamination product I have.

That said what's everyone suggestion for this?

I'd be worried about staining the anodizing with anything too strong unless they have a clear coating over them.

I've used Iron X (both the spray and the gel) with no problems on anodized wheels with no issues. That said an inconspicuous spot is always a good test first.

IronX paste is my choice, sometimes clay works too.

Your talking about the staining that often occurs behind the spoke parts correct?

Not particular any area on the rim that I am speaking of. Some of the cars I've worked on the rims have been abused pretty bad. The poorboy's cleaner I use works 99% of the time. However there are those rims that have some tough stains that seem bedded

I'll get some of the Iron X

Dave I been using Meguiar's Gold Glass All Wheel Cleaner on anodized wheels and had very good luck in cleaning them.

On my wheel (which Poorboy's cleaned PERFECTLY) I used some IRON-X as a follow up. It bled plenty of iron fall out. This makes since to me, since we clay our paint often but almost never decontaminate our wheels (which are subject to far greater amounts of harmful contaminants).

Dave,

IronX really is great for those nasty wheels with break dust. But if you would use your PB wheel cleaner first IronX paste might be a better option. It would allow you to spot apply for those really tough spots.
