Einszett 1Z Ultra Car Polish

I just started to use this product. It says to apply with a terry cloth or a foam applicator. I went with the terry and got some very slight scratches that are smaller than most swirls. I know that this is an agressive product but was just wondering if it is supposed to be this agressive. Also does anyone have any tips and tricks on the application and removal. I removed it pretty quick like it said on the bottle in the sun which was really low, so the surface was not hot, but I could see what I was doing.

Dump the terry applicator, use foam. Then see if you still get the swirling. My guess is the applicator is at least 50% of the problem.

Ok I used the foam applicator and the polish took out some swirls but still left the same fine scratches. If you look just right you can see in which way I polished. I thought that Klasse AIO would cover it up(2 coats) but it wouldn't. I'm also questioning one of my steps. After the polish it had some streaks so to finish it off, I used some MG QD and i think that the AIO didn't bond correctly because of the silicone and wax in the QD.

Also, If I end up taking everything back off and the scratches are still there should I try using 3M Fine Cut on it? I applied the 1z polish in the direction of airflow so that's how the scratches are. Should I apply the 3M fine cut in a perpindicular manner?

quote from the Autopia Store's Einszett Ultra Paint Polish page:

Use Einszett Ultra Paint Polish as the first step to remove heavy swirl marks or water spots. For best results, follow Ultra Paint Polish with a Einszett Paint Polish or Einszett Metallic Polish, then wax.

NOTE: Einszett Ultra Paint Polish is not recommended for use on new cars or cars with good paint condition. Ultra Paint Polish is a paint restoration product. If your paint is in excellent condition, try Einszett Paint Polish or Metallic

It would seem that Ultra is not meant to be the final prep step prior to waxing

Dinzdale40,

First welcome to Autopia!!!

Second purchase David's e-book on Detailing. There is a wonderful charter on hand polishing. It will instruct you step-by-step to that wonderful "hand polished" finish and the products and sequence to use.

Well I found some swirl remover in my garage and used that. Cleaned it up with an alcohol/water mixture. Then, I reapplied the coats of AIO. I'm about to use SG for the first time today. I should be totally done by saturday with an S100 topper on 3 coats of SG.
