Dear Edge Customers,
It is with great excitement that we annouce the launch of our new line of Edge2000 pads featuring a Wave Waffle surface on both sides. If you love waffle pads these are the best on the market! These pads are automatically centered with the Edge2000 adapter. They are totally safe because of no exposed backing plate (in fact there is no backing plate). The glue is recessed inside the pads for added safety and utility, and of course THE PADS(8inch) have EDGES!! We are currenty manufacturing these pads in three of our textured colors, Yellow, Green, and Blue, and two sizes 8inch with Edges and 6 inch for the PC without edges. Contact your Edge distributor for prices and availability or call the factory for any questions. Enjoy the new line of quality, unique Edge products!!

Best Regards,

Aaron

Can you tell me the benefits of using a WW pad? I have a finishing WW pad by 3M and for the life of me can't remember why I got it and I have not used it in sometime...Thanks and I love your pads I get mine threw Golden Gate North (P&S) here in Santa Rosa

Dave,
The main benefit is that since foam is very much like rubber when buffing sometimes the chemcial dries out and the pad begins to grab the surface and hop. This makes it hard to control the pad and keep it flat. By removing 50% of the surface area the pad does not grip as much and makes it easier to control. There is also many who claim that the pads runs cooler because it allows air to run under the pad while buffing and helps prevent burning. And finally some also claim that it helps with splatter because the compounds and polish get trapped in the bumps and does not sling out. To be honest so many people have asked for this type of pad that we decided to make it for those who demand the waffle surface.

Makes allot of sence to me I'll ask my local guy about it....Thanks

so your ww pads that you offer are in the different colors and firmness?
or is it just an additional pad for final polish?

These pads are the same colors and textures as our normal Edge pads. If you check the website you can see the charts on the Edge2000 foam pages that show the colors and textures and applications of each pad we make.

http://www.edgepads.com/E2kfoam.htm

We are only offering this new pad in 3 of the most popular colored textures for now. In the future we may add the black and white as requested by customers.

Me too!

Aaorn, do you think one reason many haven't switched to the Edge system yet is becuase you never used to offer a WW pad? I see a LOT of body shops using them, so maybe they'll convert now! :bigups

One more thing, do they have as much cutting action as the flat pads, or are they stricly finishing pads?

The Waffle pads are the most popular style worldwide and I agree that is why alot of people have not swtiched to the Edge2000 system but more and more people are seeing the total benefit of double sided and perfect centering without ever having to buy another backing plate. Being the only company in the world to have available the most popular style waffle pad design in the most advantageous system should really get us some of the attention we feel that we deserve and have worked so hard for, but only time will tell. We are making the pads in 3 colored textures for now but we are already adding the White texture to the line by popular demand. Waffle pads cut just like flat pads but they don't create as much heat and they don't grab the surface and are a bit easier to control. That being said flat pads may polish faster and if you keep the chemical on the surface they are also easy to control. It seems that this will be a personal choice by detailer.

Crap, now I have to spend more money when P&S gets these in :D
I like my flat sided pads, but I'll buy one of the WW's and test it out :bigups

Hello Aaron,

I currently use 3M waffle pads. Their selection is White (compound) or Black (polish), and I am getting good results, but they are thin. Can you compare your grades to this? I use a rotary, but I also have a PC that I sometimes use for final polishing.

Our selection will be in 3 of our standard colored textures. Next week we will add the white in our line too. 3M White will match our Yellow now, and their Black will be our Blue until our White comes out which will be even softer then their Black. Our Green is in the middle a texture that 3M does not even have. Our pads are also thicker, and double sided, auto centering, and no backing plate, and we make it in 8in and 6 inch for rotary and PC. Oh and did I mention that our prices are MUCH MUCH better than 3M and 3M makes you buy 2 at the same time anyway. Might as well get double sided with the quick connect system for less than buying 2 of the 3M pads that use non centerable velcro for more.

how am i going to make any money when all this cool stuff keeps coming out......this is becoming an addiction ..:howdy
