Edge2000 DA Review

It Never Rains in CA??
I've had the chance to work with Edge2000 DA green, blue, and white pads. The following is my review of these pads:

Price: Edge2000 pads are two-sided, and one pad is the same price (or in some cases lower) than two "brand x" pads. Edge2000 DA pads also use the Edge adapter, which saves both time and money. IMHO its the best system on the market.

Packaging / Labeling: Each Edge2000 DA pad comes in its own sealed package, with use and care instructions clearly printed on the packaging.

Value: There are three important catagories to look at here. First, the price is right on with what the rest of the market is offering (comparatively speaking). Second, the Edge2000 DA pads are made with open-cell foam, a sturdier foam that IMO produces better results with less time and effort. Third, my tests show that product seepage (loss) into the pad is less with Edge pads than any other foam pad I've used. Good price, better results, less product use... now that's value!

Ease of Use: It can't be much easier. Mount the adapter on your DA, click a pad in place, and start working. Want a clean pad, or need to switch to another pad... no problem! Click the new pad in place and you're on your way. I've also found that the Edge2000 DA green (light cut) handles heavier swirls and defects easier and better then most true cutting pads. I'll be trying the yellow pad soon, and expect the same great results.

Problems/Concerns: First, let it be said that the Edge2000 DA pads are great products. There has been an indentified problem with the effects of heat on earlier Edge2000 DA pads. If you live in a warmer area, or like to push the DA to its limits, the pads from older production runs can separate from the backing plate due to heat buildup and resulting glue failure. There have been many posts on this fine forum about the problem. Dedication to Detail has fixed this, and current Edge2000 DA pads should not have problems. I have tested the newer pads and can confirm this. Even so, purchase your Edge pads with confidence... Dedication to Detail stands behind their products, and will immediatly replace any Edge2000 DA pads that have failed due to defective manufacturing (and that's an end-user testimonial, not a paid endorsement).

Bottom Line: Edge2000 DA pads are a great addition to any serious detailers inventory. Odds are they will become your "go-to" pads very quicklly.

Great write up. I have the regular Edge DA pads, but haven't used them yet. After reading your review I want to go home and break out the PC!

Great review :)
You expressed many of my thoughts in a very concise manner.
I too like the fact that the product doesn't absorb into the pad as much as brand "X"
