Edge 2k cyclo review

So it's been far to long since I've been around here and much longer that I've actually participated , (thats what having a 2 year old does) :chuckle:

So I finally have the time to review a new product at least to me , the edge 2k for the cyclo.
I am a die hard cyclo fan and have been using the machine exclusively since 2004 , with the exception of pulling out the rotary when it's needed. I love the cyclo and had anyone have told me there was any flaws in the machine I would said they where crazy. No the machine did have one irritation , pad centering any one who has used the cyclo knows if they are not dead center the pads will rub and you get pad friction which creates dust. A nuisance a worst but nothing to cry about. Now about the Edge 2k system I've used it before on my PC and honestly did not like it , first I used it with the original adapter intended for the rotary which was far to long and created too much vibration , fast forward to the shorter adapter and it became a better system , personally I never liked it on my PC so I used it on my rotary where I found it to be a great asset because I could go from an 8" pad to a 6" with the click of a button rather then a backing plate change. So at that time I had found a plate for the Edge 2k system in my shop it was for my rotary where it worked great for me.

Recently I got wind of the possibility of 4" pads which at minimum I was happy to have them to add to the versatility of the fast change pads for my rotary , a 4" pad on my rotary would be great for spot repairs and defects. Then I heard Edge was working on the system for the cyclo , my first thoughts where no way because the adapters will add to much length you'll lose the great balance the machine has. So I honestly dismissed the thought of the Edge 2k system for the cyclo.

Well I now must humbly say I was completely wrong , I have been using the system on my cyclo for about a month now and I am more them impressed, this system has been a revolution in my shop , not only do I have the quick change pads on my cyclo but being that the pads are double sided that too reduces wasted time. And any pad centering issues are 100% gone the pad go on perfect every time never touch and never create any pads dust. As for the balance thing well the Edge 2k system has changed that , it's made it BETTER!
Apparently the adapters are just bit short then the standard Velcro holder and pad which reduced vibration , funny thing is I never thought the cyclo vibrated all that bad but it vibrated even less with this system. So I can say I am throughly impressed with this system and highly recommend it to anyone who is a cyclo user and those contemplating one , I strongly suggest you invest in this system too.

Nice review. I'm slowly starting to think that I might want to pick up a cyclo here pretty soon.

glad the review is helpful , I can honestly say this system as surprised me how well it works with the cyclo!
