Easy way to clean 3-piece wheels?

hi guys, I'm new to this forum. I'm looking for some advice on how to clean and maintain the 3-piece wheels on my car. I'm not sure how to describe them but I will try. They are the wheels with the rivets on the edge and have around 20 spokes radiating from the hub. In other words, there are so many nooks and crannies in this thing. And the rivets is a brake dust collector.

you may want to look into meguiars new gold class wheel brushes. They have many cool tools and brushes to aid in the cleaning of wheels.

How are the wheels finished (chrome, silver, polished etc...)? Like GregCavi said definately try some of the meguairs wheel brushes like the Ultra-safe wheel spoke brush & wheel face brush. On the rivets I use a super soft brush similar to Meguiars wheel face brush and lightly dab into the rivets to clean them out. The other option is Eagle One Wheel acid that is diluted, but you don't want to use it all the time. Also, try Poorboy's wheel sealant after they are cleaned because it will keep them clean longer, make them easier to clean and they will look awesome.

Something like the Meguiars spoke brush or the EZ-detail motorcycle detailing brush will end up being your best friend for all of the nooks and crannies. I would also invest in the meguiars wheel face brush. These two types of brushes will let you reach anywhere you could possibly need to clean. I ended up going for the EZ-detail brush because it has a lot more bristles than the megs spoke brush and it seems to be a bit more versatile, it's also a few inches longer and can bend.

Did you buy the Poorboy's wheel sealant from a retailer in AZ or did you order it on the internet? Thank guys for the advice, I will try the brushes. How often would you recommend using the diluted wheel acid? Once a year or more often?

The wheel sealant is best gotten from the internet, you can check the Poorboys site (in the top left corner of the browser window) to see if there is a retailer in your area. The wheel acid is really only for when your wheels need some crazy brake dust removal, usually you can get by with a weaker cleaner. If you put wheel sealant on them you can just use a car wash soap.

Any sealant will work well too. You don't necessarily need a specific wheel sealant. I use Four Star Ultimate Paint Protection (ordered online since it's not available locally) on my wheels and that works just as well. It will take some time to apply any wheel protection properly, and it will likely have to be reapplied a few times a year, but it will help make brake dust easier to clean off. Its still going to get on your wheels, but its not going to be as difficult to clean them. I speak from experience on this. These were my summer wheels on the car I sold a few months ago:

Those are actually pictures after a week of driving with UPP on the wheels. I used a brush on them occasionally, but other than that I just used Eagle One A2Z every other week and put UPP on them every other month. 3 years later they still looked perfect.

Like tubafeak said only use the 50/50 acid/water combo when you have wheels that are in dire condition. I purchased my wheel sealant through Poorboysworld.com to support the site and it works fantastic, however like Jngrbrdman said you can use any type of sealant if applied correctly.
