Eagle One Wax-As-U-Dry

I just washed my car today, and finished it up with a sample bottle of Eagle One Wax As U Dry. I've never used this stuff before, and i havent heard good things. I've got a good coat of wax already, and when i dried with my Absorber after running water over my car to "sheet" it off, i sprayed it on, and whiped the excess with my shammy. This stuff works pretty good, i was surprised. I've never used a wax as you dry product, but i do like it, and will start using it. It did leave some streaking, but i think i might have used too much. It did leave the paint feeling smooth and added some extra gloss to it. It didnt take any longer to dry the car.

BTW dont use it on the windows, i did, and had to go back over them with a clean mf cause it streaked them.

I'm sure PBs has some better stuff, but this stuff is ok for the price.

In my experience, the streaking showed up whether I used a large amount of product or a small amount. The streaking showed up really well when I tried it during pollen season here.

The Wax As U Dry can be used as a quick detailer spray by mixing it 3 parts water to 1 part WAUD. That is how it worked well for me. This is a fairly popular way of using it and was not my idea. But bear in mind that it is a wax product and after spraying on ( after the car is dry) and wiping down, you must then wipe it dry with another microfiber towel. Sort of like a quik wax. Spray, spread, wipe! I think it is a great product and bang for the buck is hard to beat. Currently I am out and am holding off getting more (even though it is cheap) because I am reducing inventory (or trying other things).

Wax as you dry is what i see as added lubrication while drying your car and not an LSP by any means. You can really use any DS while you dry to keep lubrication but WAUD will work.

Thats another thing i was going to add, it added a good amount of lube, and made me feel safer while waxing. And this is pollen season, but it didnt streak very bad, i doubt anyone would really notice. I might try dillutin it some.

Would Poorboy's QD be better?

I've never quite brought myself to pick up a bottle of WAUD.

I've got S&W, S&G, and Adams Detail Spray, laying around and have tried all of those before the drying/wipe down.

All of which are great QD's on their own.

I've personally found that S&G works considerably better than the previous two in aiding drying, providing lubrication, and leaving a nice "pop" to the finish.

I use this product on wet and dry paint surfaces with great results. If I'm using it dry I use it full strength and I haven't noticed any streaking problems.

The Absorber wouldn't be my choice for removing Wax as U Dry or any other cleaning, (S&W, S&G), or any quick detailing product.
IMO, it was probably the reason for your streaking.
Nothing against the Absorber, I just don't think it will spread the product evenly and remove it like a good MF or cotton towel.

Well pretty soon i'll have a waffle weave. right now its all i have.
You might want to wait until you have a towel supply before you use the W-U-D. :dunno

The Absorber is likely to absorb, (duh), the WUD rather than spread it evenly.
That is probably the reason for the streaking.

Well today i tried the WAUD again, and it worked better than last time. I dried the whole car with the absorber, and then applied WAUD with a MF. Worked great. As it turns out i dont think it really adds much more of a shine, as my paint is pretty shiny as it is. I couldnt tell any real difference, but i just liked the fact that it made it nice and smooth, and maybe more resistant to dirt. Thanks for the advice.
