Eagle One Tire Dressing

Someone I work with came in with their tires dressed with this product.
I was impressed enough to ask what it was. His brother works for Ashland
Oil who makes Eagle One and gave him a sample to try. I went to Advance
and they had a special bottle that gave you 32 oz with a free tire swipe
for $5.49. I bought a bottle and have used it for about a week. I really like
it. Dries to touch, not oily and makes the rubber look new. Not real shiny, but\the rubber looks new and dressed but low matte shine and it will not
attract dust and last pretty good. I beleive anyone who tries it will be pleasantly suprised.

For you folks who like the Eagle One products, I noticed a sticker on some of them the other day, bright yellow and it says "save $7 instantly". Detach it, it's got $1 coupons for all of the Eagle One products (can be used individually). I stocked up on the Tire Dressing, the Tire and Wheel Cleaner, and the Wax-as-U-Dry (works well over carnauba toppers in between waxes).

In addition to the coupon, if you have Meijer's nearby, the tire/wheel cleaner is on sale for $3.88, making it $2.88 with the coupon....

Sorry I can't post pics right now. I had to send my camera in for repairs.
I still am amazed how good this stuff works. It gets better every time
I use it. I think it is one of the best I seen so far and love the way it looks.
Any one else try it?

I have heard some good reviews about it lately but if I am correct it is a clear oily product and these are the solvent based type that are apparently bad for rubber. I stick to the white milky water based dressings that contain UV protection and are not harmful to rubber. 303, Megs #40, Mothers FX Tire Shine, Mothers Reflections Tire Shine are a few examples of these types of products.

I've come to the conclusion that oily dressings may be harmful to interior rubber, exterior seems, and maybe even trim. But all those effects take years and years of damage to occur, and you more than likely will replace your tires before that happens. Only advantage I have been seeing to water-based dressings is the no sling issue.

But with my new technique of applying the oily dressing and then going over it with a waterbased dressing to even it out, I get no slinging.

I have noticed with the oily solvent based dressings that they brown the tires very quickly. I never get this problem with water based dressings.

I have read all the info about blooming and such but I never and I mean never have had a problem with browning using 303 or Mothers FX Tire Shine.

I have only used Eagleone for 2 weeks and have not seen any browning yet. I doubt that I will. I clean the tires good and redress every wash. I will keep this post up to date as time goe's on.

That is the one. I think the normal size is 25oz. I got a special at Advance Auto that has 28% more which is 32oz and had a free tire swipe on the bottle for $5.49. I am going to look at Walmart and Meijer to see what their price is. I would imagine they are cheaper but the special bottle was just to good to pass up.

I have absolutely no idea if this is true or not. I read it on one of the other detailing forums. I have not verified this further.

This is the comment that I had read. Valvoline has acquired EShine and was planning on shutting down the Eagle One part of their business.

With 303 and Mothers FX all I need is carwash soap and a brush and the tires come out like new. With some of the solvent based dressings I tried the tires turned brown within a couple washes and I needed a strong APC or Eagle 1 A2Z to get them clean. Once I did the dressing turned them brown again. This BS stopped when I went to 303 and now FX Tire Shine. I'm done with the oily solvent type dressings.

I've never had problems with browing using Eagle One. So far, so good.... :)

Oh, and I noticed the tires on my wifes Maxima still looked pretty good yesterday. not freshly dressed, but definitely dark and looking like they'd been detailed. It's been 9 days since I used EO on them, and it's rained twice - once lightly, and once really hard. Car was driven in the rain both times...

Maybe Eagle one puts something in it to prevent the browning. I had that problem with the NXT Insane Shine and the Meguairs Hot Shine aerosols. I have the Hot Shine Spray and am going to compare it to the Eagleone Tire Shine. I really like this Eagleone. Like Hook said it lasts thru rain real good. That was one of the reasons I did not like the waterbased products. I also like some of the gels by Meguairs. I just like trying new things and seeing if I can find one that makes that difference from the rest.

I sent in a question on Eagleone's web site regarding the product being bad for the rubber. Their reply which I cannot copy and paste due to their disclousure statement. Was that the product will not damage the rubber and doe's have UV protectants in it to preserve the rubber.
