eagle 20/20 vs autoglym glass polish or z12

Hey guys i'm a newbie on the bored! Got some questions about glass cleaners. Right now i'm using eagle 20/20 and am wondering what the difference is between that and say autoglym glass polish or the zaino z12. Can you use the z12 and autoglym on the inside windows also? And since these are mentioned as polishes, is there something you put on top after your done or just use the polish and thats it like the 20/20.

Thanks!

Z12 and the AG glass polish are for taking out minor scratches and waterspots - just like a paint polish. EO 20/20 is just a glass cleaner for normal cleaning. Totally different animals.

Ah 4DSC answers (seen you all over the board and your from vancouver!:p ). So does that mean the Z12 and AG bring out the shine in the glass? What makes the glass so nice and reflective? (can't be the eo 20/20 cause yea i've been using that, good to know they're for different things though!) Oh and btw, are there any local places that carry Autoglym besides Weissach? What do you suggest for wax since the one i have now (car beauty pro or something) is running out. I was thinking either zaino or s100 (where do you find s100 in vancouver though).

Thanks again ( i know i ask a lot of questions..:o)

Oh hi, I didn't notice your location - welcome. :wavey

Is your windshield all scratched up or covered in spots or something? I haven't done a lot of glass polishing, but I suppose if it's never been done before on a car with older windows it couldn't hurt. I wouldn't try applying this stuff in attempt to "wax" the glass though, since that's not what it's for. :nixweiss

Mopac, Overseas Auto, and some dealerships (European cars, maybe some Chrysler dealers) carry Autoglym.

Either Zaino or S100 are good choices. You just have to decide what kind of waxing process you want to go with and pick one. If you have any questions or things you'd like to know about, don't forget to try the Search function first - it's the best way to learn things and often you get more info than any one or few people can give. :xyxthumbs Also, you may want to try out the Autopia eBook.

For example, search turned up this very easily:

S100 in Vancouver...

This one isn't as easily found though:

Possible Zaino source for Vancouverites...

Thanks 4DSC. I saw the post on the zaino dealer in vancouver...i know of 2 now :). Where is Mopac and Overseas auto located?

I'm using Autoglym Glass Polish for removing waterspot. It's effective but got to use a lot of elbow grease. Just wondering how is Z12 compared to Autoglym in terms of strength? If it's only maginally stronger then i'll stick with Autoglym.

The watermarks stain is very stubborn, almost like etched.

The AG is able to remove it but after much energy and time. I have only done half a windscreen. Still got a lot more areas to cover. That's why asking if Z12 will be much stonger to make the job easier. If it only brings slight difference, i going to continue using the AG.

i just recieved some AG glass polish for my really noticibly water marked glass, what applicator did u use? i used a cotton towel and it did nothing, not that i really put a lot of effort in it either though.......will try again tomarow

The Autoglym can also be used as a normal glass cleaner, you just use light pressure. I think it is a first class product. It can be used with a buffer or a foam pad.

so you can use it in place of the 20/20. Must you apply a lot of pressure and is it like a wax where you have to buff off or like the 20/20 where you just wipe it. Recommended for inside windows?

I use a bit of pressure, more than waxing and polishing paint. You could use it as everyday class cleaner, like 20/20, but I don't see the need to. 20/20 is so much easier.

I just use it every month or so to remove stubbon water spots. Not sure what it would do to your tint(if you have any) if used on the inside of the windows.

Thx andrew. So the autoglym helps to remove stains also make it a bit i guess brighter more shiny? and the 20/20 helps to quick clean it.

After trying lots of approaches on my 28-year-old windows, what really created the bling-bling! effect was claying followed by Z2 on those babies. Zounds!

The Autoglym is very easy to use, apply and buff off. It is safe to use on tints etc so there should be no problem using inside. If you apply some pressure it will also remove some stains. It is a mild polish so dont expect miracles.

Nick

I have not used Fast Glass, but from the Autoglym video, it seems to be a very mild cleaner and is safe on plastic. Useful I would guess if your in a hurry.

Steven

AG glass polish, and any runny liquid window cleaner are meant for different jobs IMO. Use the glass polish if you think the glass looks hazy from being sandblasted or has water stains/etching. Use the glass cleaning solution for cleaning normal dirt and grime off.

I wouldn't use a glass polish on a regular basis. It's an "as needed" product. Would you use a paint polish on your paint instead of QDing or washing it on a regular basis?
