Eagle 1's "Wax As-U-Dry"... any good

Yes, I'm looking for an easy way out here...

I went to Pep Boys today to pick up the A2Z cleaner, and next to it was the Wax As-U-Dry product. Is this any good? I don't expect it to be as good as a good polish and wax, but is this worth anything at all? It sounds almost too good to be true...

Will it harm my paint (one of my cars was repainted, no clearcoat)? Protect against the sun? Make water bead? Give the paint a decent shine?

thanks

Hi Dave,

I have been using Wax as U Dry after my weekly wash. It certainly does not replace Klasse, Pinnacle or Poorboys waxes/sealants but I find it gives great shine and since I can spray it on my wet vehicle, it save me a step since I used to dry the car then use a QD for that extra shine. I would recommend Wax as U Dry as a weekly "detailer" but not as a long term wax or sealant. YMMV:up

Friends, if you ever find yourself asking, "I wonder if <product X> is any good?" or something along that line, please feel free (and I do mean FREE) to use the fine and wonderful Autopia Search Engine. Click on the SEARCH link at the top of the page and enter your query into the appropriate box. What will turn up will flat stun you.

I love the stuff, use it as a QD too !! Wet or dry, its great stuff......

I really didnt like it that much. I found it sorta difficult to use. I did try the Megs Quick Wax which was much easier per Mike Phillips instructions.

Dave, i think its a better QD than spray wax.....You must make sure you currently have a good base product on your surface, or the EO is useless......

The subtitle under my screenname says "apprentice." Well, apprentice = newbie. :D

Anyway, QD = quick detailer, I assume.

What's EO?

edit: duh... EO = Eagle One. :doh

I use Wax as your Dry and love it especially when your car has had a recent coat of wax on it and you are just trying to maintain the shine....I use a man made chamois..( sorry can't remember the brand) comes in a plastic tube in different colors and is kept there moist ... :up

The Absorber?????

I still have a bunch of those laying around now since I started using the Waffle Weaves to dry. The Absorber is now regulated to boat and jetski duty.

If I want to wax my wheels after washing, should I spray the Wax-As-U-Dry on the wheels or spray on the cloth to apply? I want to minimise the mess...

Great stuff. Spray lightly over the surface of the wheel and start wiping from the bottom so that the WAYD doesn't run onto the wheels. No mess and a nice (albeit short-lived) slick finish. Great for in-between sealant/wax applications on the wheel. Hey, you have to dry the wheel anyway...
