Mar 1, 2010 #1 M Mobilejay Active member Whats up guys, I have an E46 M3 to detail Wed. and wanted to know how the clear was on those. The only thing I have done on those M3's are carbon fiber hoods for some reason and that doesn't help me out with the rest of the paint. Thanks in advance.

Mar 1, 2010 #4 G GoCubsGo New member Pop the hood and take a look at the front of the driver's side shock tower. There's a badge that has the 3 digit color code. 416 = Carbon Black Metallic <<I bet this is what you have, it can look dark blue in the right lighting. 668 = Jet Black My DD is a Carbon Black Metallic E46 M3 and it's on the harder side.

Mar 1, 2010 #6 M Mobilejay Active member No, its definetely blue but I couldn't see for sure if it was metallic or not. The swirling isn't too bad but we'll see. Thanks again.
