Dusty but not dirty car!

What's the best way to clean a vehicle that is lightly dusty from sitting in the elements? Dusty, but not dirty enough for a full fledge washing. I certainly don't want to do anything that will scratch the clearcoat!

I use my car duster sometimes. Usually I just take a bottle of Poorboy's Spray and Wipe to it and it shines better that way.

make sure you wrap it in newspaper or paper towels for about a week to suck out all the parafin wax or it will streak on your car. i've had my new duster for about 2 months now and it still has parafin coming out, even after wrapping it multiple times over, but no streaks.

Now that you have your hood so beautiful it will be a good testing ground for the CDD. Soon as my CCD got a little dirty from brushing off the cars rear it started to scratch and I never noticed this before untill I have the paint swirl free. And pariffin/black car/ hot day = ewww mess

Jesstzn, I actually used it already, very, very gently. Just brushing it lightly with the tips of the mop. As for scratches I need to go check it, maybe compressored air is an idea!

A Kozak, followed by a CCD, then Qded with FD and a DFTowel is a winning combination :xyxthumbs

IF you go the compressed air route, us very low pressure - maybe 3/40 pounds.

Otherwise, you'll just be blasting dirt into the surface

CCD + black car=just fine, as long as the CCD has been aired out on newspaper thoroughly.Aired mine out for about 10 days before use, works great

I usually use Quik Shine and my DF Towel. If the dust is heavier, I switch to Poorboy's Spray and Wipe.

I'll go against the current here (once again ;) ) and say that *I* would just wash it. Some paint just shouldn't be touched when it's dirty, not with a CCD, Kozak, QD/MF, not with anything except a wet, soapy mitt or boar's hair brush.

I've given up on anything other than a full wash after marring cars with the aforementioned methods (and yes, I was doing it "correctly"/carefully). Plenty of people HAVE used those methods successfully, but I'd just spend the extra time and wash it. Paint is a NON-renewable resource and if you mar the finish you're also looking at spending a LOT of time to fix it.

Cool surface, high quality MF and a QD

Gets my vote!
