Duragloss wait time?

I applied DG #601 then DG #105 today to my Odyssey today. I want to apply another two coats, but how long should I wait before adding the second and third coats? Also, do I need to apply the 601 each time I add another coat of 105?
The first coat looks great and is VERY slick. I think by the time I add the third coat, the van will look better than it did the day we picked up from the dealer. I picked silver for the color before I found this forum and others and knowing what I know now, I would have picked something darker. Maybe even the Nighthawk black.

I would wait a day or two before your next application...

Also, you should only use the Bonding Agent once before your intial applications. Using it again after will just clean all the sealant off and leave you at "ZERO"

Thanks for the info. I plan to go ahead with the second coat tomorrow afternoon. I guess I'll do the third coat Thursday. I want to have the van done before we go to the beach on Friday. I want as much protection as I can get from the direct sunlight and salt air. Also, it should be much easier to clean when we get home.

wait 24 hours between coats...clean paint with the Fast Clean and Shine prior to adding the 105 again...it will clean the paint..plus add a little zoomph..trust me...it is like doing Z-8 or Z-6 with the zaino system...gives a nice surface for the next coat to bond to...it works..

I have done a few cars to date like this..and it works better than just adding a coat on top of a coat of 105... http://www.duragloss.com/product.asp?pid=299

then after you have got 3 coats on..maintain with Aquawax ...after a wash..or when ever you feel you need to spruce it up....REAL SLICK....and durable...

the bonding agent is just for first layer....

The "rule of thumb" on waiting between sealant coats is 24 hours. However, some sealants state on the directions that 12 hours is sufficient "cure" time. I would wait if I had the time, but if I had to put another coat on in less than 24 hours, it's not going to do any harm. On my truck, when doing an entire start-to-finish detail, I'll almost always put on two "coats" (applications) of whatever sealant I'm using to ensure complete coverage of the vehicle.

When I put the 105 on my ranger I called Duragloss and talked to Bill about this. I wanted to get it straight from the horses mouth and he told me wait 12 to 24 hours depending on the temperature and humidity. The longer you can wait the better. I waited 24 hours. Al is right about the FC&S it will really ramp up the shine. I also called them again this week asking if I could use the FC&S on my show car when I have to clean it in direct sun. He said I can apply it in direct sun this will make life much easier at the shows where their is no shade.AnthonyA got his shorts in a wade because of me bragging about FC&S in another post but I think it is an awesome product I just ordered another gallon of it because I know I will be using a lot of it.

Please forgive my ignorance, but what is the FC&S? Is that another duragloss product? I added the second layer this afternoon and it was sOOO HOT! I didn't really feel like standing back and admiring the shine. I was just ready to get back in the A/C.
If I can get my hands on whatever the FC&S is, maybe I can get it on the van before Friday morning and add the third coat of 105.

oops. Never mind guys. I just clicked on the link on a previous post and found out what the FC&S is. Sorry. I'm going to check at carquest in the morning and see if I can get my hands on some.

While it will not do any harm the people at Duragloss recommends to not apply more than two coats. I know Al has several on his but Bill told me that it could Begin to smear and actually not look as good due to buildup of the polish. I applied two coats on mine and it looks good enough for me.

hwypatrolman.... Take the FC&S with you on vacation..good for bird bombs..bugs...cleaning the windows...and a quick wipe down of the vehicle...great stuff...but nice in between coats also.......adds a lot of shine also...

Bart..thats funny..Jerry told me that he found 3 was his best..I think those guys drink to much moonshine at times..lol....Jerry said let the drying time go longer...like 30-40 minutes after you do the first coat...but I got no smearing at all...I have 3 and done..just clean with FC&S and Aw after a wash or 2

Bart..the FC&S is a awesome cleaner QD huh...

Today I brought my truck in for service before warranty ran out..and when they brought my truck out there was hand prints all over the fenders and hood....service manager seen them when out in the sun..said he would clean it...told him I had stuff to clean it..got out the FC&S and sprayed it on and wiped it down..greasy prints were gone and shiny...he wanted the stuff..lol.. for himself...

I'm surprised that FC&S would work to clean windows..? I figured it would smear. My main concern is keeping sand out of the interior.

This weekend I'm going to a show about 50 miles away since i Will get some road dust on the way I Will just wait till I get their to detail my car. '
The show is on the court house square and no trees. In the past this has always been a problem trying to clean the car in the sun but this weekend i plan on using the FC&S it will clean and shine it all in one application.
This product is going to make things a lot easier for me.
I have Pinnacle Souveran on the car so the polish in the FC&S may not stick real well but it will stay on much longer than the show and that is all I care about because I will go to another show next weekend and detail it again when I get to that show. Sometimes I go to a afternoon show detail my car when that show is over I drive maybe only 20 miles to a cruise-in that night and detail it again after I get their. Detailing twice in one day you don't need durability just something that is fast and easy to use and makes it look good.
