Duragloss removal

I'm doing some paint touch up, and I have two layers of #105 with two layers of #951 aqua wax, I have paint chips I want to fix them, I'm worried the paint wont stick.

Is there anything I can use with a q tip to remove the Duragloss without sanding the area, just where the chiped paint is located.

I tried alcohol doesn't feel like it took it off, this stuff looks wetter than last week feels like its bonded to the paint.

Use Dawn dishwashing liquid.

Use a pre-paint prep like Prep-Sol or the version that Eastwood sells:

You should also be able to find a similar product locally at an auto parts and/or paint store. I think I bought some at Advance or AutoZone a few years ago.

Thanks guys, I will give each a shot, first ill try concentrated dawn on a quarter size area around the chip, if it doesn't work, I guess I will break down and buy chemicals.

I wouldn't expect much from Dawn. It's designed for cleaning dishes, after all, not as a prep solvent.

I don't have my hopes up, I know dawn removes wax if used strong enough but the Duragloss feels like a layer of clear coat I will try it since I have the dawn, most likely i will need the paint prep stuff.

Dawn and ISO won't remove Duragloss. Try 3m wax remover. Some walmarts and local autoparts stores have it.

wow duragloss is a cool wax....i thought isopropyl would be good haha

why don't you try laundry detergent....

Mineral Spirits will also work. A hardware store sells it, evem Wal-Mart has it.
