Duragloss over Zaino

Can you layer Duragloss over Zaino? Or will it come right off when I wash?

The reason I ask is, a local automotive part store carries Duragloss and I wouldn't mind giving it a try.

Thanks.

Yep, you can use AW over Zaino without issue-it may change the look of the Z a bit tho. If I was going to mix the product lines I'd use DG 101 or 501 as a base and top with CS and/or Z8. DG stuff is good but from my experience Zaino has better gloss and shine and I'd reccomend using Zaino as the top layer.

Thanks for the info. Maybe I will reconcider my idea. I thought maybe duragloss would give me more of a "wet" look on top of Zaino.

How about the Duragloss Clear Coat Polish? or would I be wasting my money?

Also, do you apply the aquawax before you dry?

IMO 111 isn't in the same league as Z2pro in regards to reflectivity and gloss. 111 looks nice on white but I was disapointed with it on my navy blue metallic. 105 or 501 are newer products and have better gloss from what I've read.

This will remove any underlying LSP. So if you plan to re-do (strip the Zaino) your finish, this polish will do the job.

Yes, you can maintain or top your Zaino with any non-abrasive DG product but neither AW or F&S will approach the look of Z8. Of course the higher level of Z8's visual appearance comes at a cost.:hifive:

DG is inexpensive ($4-$6), so give it a shot. It may give you a look you like and save the Zaino Z6 & Z8 for those full details and special occasions (Cruise Nites).

i think zaino is an outstanding product, i've used it and liked it a lot. but i found on my car, electron blue, the shine, reflectivity and gloss were nice, but when i put aw, or s&g on top it seemed to bring alot more slickness and wet appearance to the paint. i've also topped it with natty's blue, 50/50, pete's 53 and each one gave a different look to the paint. i like to experiment with different combos, it's all what works best for your application.:waxing:

some blue mettalics are somewhat funky-I've found that ZAIO/CS provides a wet look on NBM and adding some Z8 deepens it a touch. Adding Z2pro into the combo increases reflectivity.

Technically, you can use AW either way. It says on the bottle it can be used on a wet surface, but I have found it to be highly effective used on a dry surface. I think using it on a dry surface yields better surface adhesion and durability personally. AW is really not a QD, so you don't want to really use it to clean the surface at all. It is strictly a spray sealant with no cleaners.

Oh, and I find that AW is easily able to match the look and durability (if not exceed) that of Zaino's Z8.

Mike is correct..AW works better on a dry surface than a wet surface.....I use one MF to apply and one to wipe...and use 1 spray on one panel 2 on the hood area..the more the application MF gets wet the less you will use....

for a QD I am finding the Marine Detailer QD (521) be better than the 921....cleans better without harm to the LSP...better wet look ...and real slick.....anti static and more UV protection....

Well, I picked up some Aquawax today and it gets a two thumbs up in my book. I noticed the same results as if I was using Z8 at a fraction of the cost. It left a nice deep glossy shine.
