Duragloss or Finish Kare

Hey Everyone,

I wanted to get your input on what combo you would use on a Flint Mica Lexus RX 350 :

Duragloss 501/601, 105 & 111

or

Finish Kare 100P & Pink Wax

I have all of the products on hand. I suppose part 2 of my question would be if I go with 601/501 and 105 combo (layer 105 right on top of 601/501) could I then layer 111 on top of the other two?

I've only used these products a couple of times so I don't have the experience that many of you have. Just looking for some feedback.

Thanks!

Pink Wax was one of the sickest products I have used. It doesn't come off so easy but it gives good long protection and repells dust pollen and things that float in the air. what ever you do is your choice but have Pink Wax on top you won't be sorry.

not to mention that it is really cheap when it is compared to other wax's

I would do DG just like you have it. Not sure about the 601 though.

Doing by hand or PC ?

Fallguy,

I've done it by hand in the past, but I'll probably use my PC this time.

In everyone's opinion, which combo would give the dark grey more of a candy shell appearance?

3 layers of 1000P gives a candy shell appearance typical of sealants, but as it ages over a few days, it develops depth and glow like a nuba, which is why I don't top it with a wax.

Unlike some in this thread, I think FK1 products are fantastic. Even more so when you consider the price!

3 coats of FK1 1000P lasted me through the whole winter. I ran my car through a touchless coin-op once a week (at least), too.

Edit: if you decide to do 1000P, I've found that applying the first coat with a PC, then subsequent coats by hand (using a *very* light touch) works well.

I appreciate the feedback guys. Pollen sure is a pain here in Dallas right now. I'd like to finish cleaning the car and store it in one of those huge plastic bubbles until someone can figure out how to filter all of the air outside. lol

I'm a huge fan of 1000P too. It's in my top three most used LSP's. And like most have said, 2-3 layers will give you the look you're looking for.

Regarding the 1000P, can each layer be applied on top of each other like DG can or do I have to apply & remove 3 consecutive times?

1000p can be layered as soon as you wipe off the first layer. I apply wait 30-45 minutes do the swipe test then wipe off the residue, wipe down with fk 425 and apply the second layer
