Duragloss Aquapaint - the result and should I wax.

Dream Machines
I took a gamble and ordered a gallon of 951 aquawax to use on top of several layers of AJT that I applied to my dark blue car.

In the past six months I have not used any wax and find the need to use it totally deminished.

I wanted to see if I can apply different brands of sealant to get paint looking like it's got carnauba on it

Eight months ago I re did the paint with prima swirl, blackfire SRC 3000, Vanilla moose and then machined on the prime acrylic

Used slick after every wash and applied AJT (about seven coats by now)

I've noticed that the front of the car has been getting wetter, more clarity and deeper over this time

Last month I got the AW and went to town. Seven washes later, I just applied the fifth coat of this tonight and there is no doubt in my mind that it has lifted the paint to a new level. With the orange peel reduced a tad by the buffing and then the rest covered by a level coating of the prime, it is simply amazing. The paint has a liquid coating.

The depth has increased a little and although AW does not do much for slickness, the wetness is amazing and it really has got a shimmer to it. It looks like the paint has got a 5mm layer of wet glass over it. when I move my head, images actually float around the panel

It's really hard to explain. Another thing is that my exterior trim (bottom part) which I've always coated with AJT and had virtually no clear reflection, once coated with AW tonight, became clearer, fractionally blacker and looks like it has a clearcoat on top of it.

I could see my face in it.

Now I'm wondering if I should wax and what with.

I don't like some waxes as they reduce slickness (which I like the most)

Can waxes ruin/affect the clarity that sealants provide?

I have collinite 915, soft 99 premium authentic and dark & metallic wax & might have some p21s left somewhere.

Friends are telling me to be happy with the car and just maintain it but I want to see how much further I can take it

One time I had ten coats of 915 on it and although it had good depth, the shine and wetness is better now than it was back then.

AW is also great on glass. Ultra quick to use and I've yet to have any streaking or smearing.
